nova jeepers/beltway jeepers will be heading out to George Washington National Forest for a "new to jeeping trail ride" I want to invite yall to go. If intrested post up in nova's fourm.

GW is for the most part stocker friendly and this is a good chance for anyone that just wants to spend a day out on the trails and some hanging around time with other jeepers.
I would go on this if I was in the area, but I am not.

anyone near hampton roads area goin??
The ride is this Saturday (Aug 30). I'd like to go but that is an awful long way to go for just a day trip. I did Shoe Creek this past weekend and that was a long way. This ride is probably about another 60 or so miles away.

You should go, they are generally fun. Depending on the group size is how they split it up. If you like mud and hear 'Salt Shed' go with that group. If you just want the scenic run do 'Flagpole'.
I've had a blast anytime I went there going through either.

Why ain't worth headaches and arguements. Besides there be a Bachelor party on Saturday night with appointments at the strip club.
That and someone sent me something to go look at this weekend.

How was Shoe Creek? I've been wanting to head down there for a while now.
Shoe Creek was pretty good. It's extremely stocker friendly. I'm reconsidering the NOVA group ride. Although new to the wheelin' scene I am already incredibly addicted. I plan on going somewhere every weekend if possible.

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll make a definite decision on going this evening and post first thing in the A.M. The only thing really stopping me is talking my kids into getting up at 0500.

Yeah, we could drive up together. Camping would be out for me. I don't have the room for both my kids and gear.

Looks like we'll be going. I may have another Jeeper coming along too. It's about 200 miles from my house so I was thinking about leaving around 0600.

Sounds like a plan my buddy and I are going to go. He has a apartment in Hampton so we will probably stay there Friday night. I sent me cell# either pm me or call me about meeting somewhere saturday morning. My old cb broke so I am going to pick one up friday. so we can comunicate without cell phones on the way up and while we are there.
It looks like there are going to be four rigs driving up from the peninsula for this ride. Any other takers?

I just want to thank Rick for setting this up. I had a great time with everyone, sorry didnt get to the formal handshake either on some people but man it was fun. Love the lite up eyes on that skull :)
oh man...I didn't even see the eyes light up...too cool!

You would be amazed at how many comments I get on the skull. I’ve had people at traffic lights say something about it. It’s always funny when the driver in front of me sees it then you see them say something to their passenger and they turn around to look at it.
I got it as a going away gift when I left England. Until recently it just hung in the garage over my workbench. Then one evening, when beer was involved, I decided it would look better on the Jeep. The red eyes were done at a later date. Again, beer was involved. Some of my best work happens after beer.
I need to take another picture with the eyes lit up for my avatar. Unfortunately I don’t have a camera right now because a couple of us used it as an obstacle at Shoe Creek a few weeks ago. Amazingly we had no trouble driving over it but the camera itself didn’t fair too well.
