Saturday morning a van carrying several sailors to a medical appointment here in Kuwait was involved in a serious accident. The 14 passenger van was changing lanes when a tire blew and caused the van to roll and eject several of the occupants. There were 5 occupants all together and 4 had to be flown out to a medical center in Kuwait City.
3 of my friends were in this van, 2 of them were ejected. One is banged up with a broken arm and several minor injuries. Another one broke his leg in several places and has a head injury. He regained contentiousness this morning. The other guys is in the worst shape and has an acute subdural hematoma and several broken bones and injuries. The drilled into his skull to relieve pressure but he has not regained contentiousness yet.
NOK has been notified with all involved but not much info is out. We have been in country since September of last year without any major incidences. We are due to rotate home in a few weeks. Please pray for a full speedy recovery.
