Well, I'm finally breaking down to bring in the Jeep and get the tranny looked at and fixed. This means however that I won't have the toy money that I thought I was going to have. I called Crazy Ed, but he is so strung out that he can't help me right now, but recommended the AAMCO on Garden of the Gods, behind McD's off of I25. I'll let everyone know how they do and maybe when it's done, I can do a small wrench party to get the disco's installed and then check the flex out. Does anyone have a flush mount zerk grease gun?

Hey, if AAMCO can't get it done, pull you tranny and take to A-1 transmission in denver, well worth it, I just had my 6 speed rebuilt by them, only took 8 days including shipping from Grand Junction,Co. The guys called twice during that time, to let me know whats what, not cheap! but right.

That's pretty kewl. Crazy eddie was the one that put me on to these guy's and said they will treat me right. Since everyone says good things about Ed, I think that I can trust him. I found another place that has years of experiance here in the springs, but I will go with the recommendation for now. Thanks for the tip.

I dropped it off. They said that the diagnostic won't cost me anything. We'll see what the result is. I called nick up and he followed me up there today at lunch.

Well, I got a call yesterday afternoon, and it was really time that I brought it in. After doing the free diagnostic they gave me a quote for $1050.:( According to the, the seals need to be replaced, bearings, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember. Most of that is labor, but it's still a lot of money. So much for jeep toys. It will be nice when it's done though. I'll finally be able to shift like a normal person.

It just got worse, got the final number today. $1125, bearings, syncro's, tranny mount, and of course the other crap. I get to pick it up tomorrow around 1pm. Since it will now be fixed, I am going to try and talk the wife into taking a trip to the mountains next weekend followed by a movie. I really want to get back into the woods.

Hopefully next weekend. As soon I get permission from my 6, you guy's will know. I will ask her today and I'll get a new thread going. Just a few more hours and my baby will be home again.

Well after some time driving the Jeep, I called up AAMCO again. I still have some grindage. They guy said that it can't be the tranny since they replaced everything and said that it has to be the pilot bearing. So the obvious question was, Didn't you guy's check it out? Answer: Yes, and it looked ok. WTF? Now I have to bring it back up there on Wednesday so that they can take two hours to look at it again.

It really sucks. At least I have a couple of pilot bearings here at the house. Will just have to see what they say.
