It has it's advantage, as it bolts to the case itself, rather than to both the case and the body.

I've never had any problems with mine (stock), but have replaced some bushings on other XJ's and ZJ's to tighten them back up.

If a guy was running both a body lift, and a T-case drop, I can see the advantage, since the stock linkage would be twisted up pretty good.

Novak also has a cable shifter assembly you may want to look into. I haven't heard bad things about the one you posted though.

Or you could make your own:

It does basically the same thing, and allows you to use the stock shifter assembly.

I've got one bolted to the 231 that is getting rebuilt later this week and installed in my 95 ZJ. I will let you know how it is.

Got this sitting in the garage for this Novak for the weekend http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/shifters/sk2xc.htm cable replaces the linkage and has great reviews.
Looking forward to not having my linkage fall out of the brackets

Installed this http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/shifters/sk2xc.htm (http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/shifters/sk2xc.htm) yesterday. Works great, but was tough to get everything tightened up because of the location. We had the front drive shaft removed, and would probably been easier if the belly up was taken off also but we got er done.

How did it turn out?

No clue yet. stuff came up and i had to work on other things. Hopefully soon I will have it in there. Picking up a 44/14 bolt this weekend for something else, so the t-case is back burner for now.

I'm using the one from advance adapters. Was a great improvement over what I had... The stock linkage didn't shift smoothly at all after the body lift/belly up/motor mount lift was completed. Great investment.

i have the 242 cable shifter in my zj and still havent gotten it to work correctly, i knew going into it i'd have issues with it so i've been tinkering with it here and there trying to get all ranges. maybe in the next couple weeks i'll get it done. i wish i would have gotten the one shown instead lol

We use them on about every Jeep we build (that's not getting an ATLAS). They work great and give easy positive shift engagement.
