Ok something I have been tinkering with for a while now.
Basicly a scavenger hunt using off road geo cache gps coords. It would be like a long term(3 mo??) poker run. I think it would cover at least 1 spot in each state that our area covers(mid-Atlantic).
Everyone interested would put maybe 10- 20 bucks into a pot for winner purse or maybe some trophy. It would cover 3-4 mo window to allow people to travel to the spots and fit their scedule. Once at the geocache you would remove 1(and only one item ) from the cache as proof of finding. All items would be turned in at a deadline winner gets pot.
I have thought of adding some bonus coords to some of the harder to find caches that would lead someone to a new spot not on the original set of coords.
The purpose of this "game" would be basicly to get us out of the house and allow us to possibly see some new off road spots sit in roadside diners and eat good food and take in the sights. basicly an excuse to get our asses off the couch and on the road for a day.
It would take a decent level of interest to get into motion and once the participants addresses were known we could try to set it up so the longest trip would be an all day thing. no real weekend/overnight excursions
any idea/improvements would be welcome
let me know if this sounds like something fun to do or wtf what he thinking lol
