Many, well some of us anyway, will remember James Arness from the tv series Gunsmoke. He was also a decorated veteran of WWII, Arness served with the 3rd ID and was wounded during the invasion at Anzio. Arness received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and C.I.B. He died today at age 88.

Rest In Peace Marshall Dillon!

Been watching Gunsmoke for the last few years, two buddys of mine bought the complete DVD collection, including the black and white ones.

We meet at the bar (where I worked off and on for 20 years) and drink coffee and watch Gunsmoke during the day.

He was also a MN native.

This past Monday, we had are monthly 'Gunsmoke Lunch' down at the bar. We not only did lunch, but had a cake, and a couple of the girls dressed up in Honor of Matt Dillon!

It was a blast. RIP James Arness.
