I have mine running from the fuse box behind the glove box. I used the rear whiper fuse slot since i dont have one and it run when the jeep is off. As for the ground I just grounded it off to a bolt on the frame.

Simple answer is A) find a constant hot wire in the fuse box to tap into, or B) just run the lines to the battery. Only problem with this method is that if you forget to turn it off, it could kill the battery.

I also heard that you should in line fuse the ground wire when going stright to the battery, Because if it shorts somewhere it could travel up the ground while looking for a place to go.
I forget where I read this but somewhat makes sense.

Maybe an inline Relay to help avoid that?

Well I just got finished with the CB install... I ran it to the AUX Power Outlet in the cab...Its always hot even when the car is off....works like a charm. I also blew a fuse lastnight....thats another reason why it didnt work.
