Just curious if anyone had anything planned for an out and back day trip to ANYWHERE this weekend. I will be back from Cali late Friday and was thinking about getting a little dirt on the tires.

Yes must Wheel! Sunday the 17th is my only full on free day. I'd love to head to GWNF again. Hopefully some other want to head up that way. Im going regardless. If you plan on going PM me and i'll shoot you my cell number.

I've been itching to go for a little while now. Where in the forest do you plan on going?
Same place the crew went last month. I'm not sure of the name but the area with the river run and the mud bath. I might even drive up there Saturday after work and camp over the night and wheel all day sunday.

That sounds like salt shed to dry river... so far I'm in. I won't be able to head out till Sunday morning though. Might have another person interested as well.

what's that trail like? I am in my DD. I dont wanna get too crazy.....might call my brother in Knoxville and ask him if he wants to run with us.
The trail isnt too rough, and I wheel my DD also. every obstacle has a bypass and some of the bypasses even have a bypass. If you look at this thread ->>> http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/showthread.php?t=2201 you can see some of the trail pictures. The only breakage we had was due to over-bravery or skinny pedal abuse.
I have no plans to do anything crazy or brave on this trip, just want to get out, run some trails and do some exploring.

You'll be fine... we did this as a "new to jeepin'" run for nova jeepers about a month ago. We had 2 stock grands and a stock commander go through. I've heard it's a little rougher since the last time I was through due to all the rain and abuse, but it still shouldn't be too bad. I'm in my daily driver as well, pretty much a stock rubicon. Only problem I could see is getting stuck in mud, but I've got a winch and tow straps.

well...I WAS gonna go this weekend. Seems the high paid mechanics at Cottman's Transmission are a little over paid. I have 90 weight gear ool dripping from the pinion shaft and the right axle seal. PO'ed is an understatement.
The only reason I had a machete was for the vampires and werewolves. Sheesh...

So Im leaving around 5pm tonite camping at the rivers edge near where Andrew got hydrolock and Chris went submarine. I'll hang out in that general area for the better part of the morning. I'll have the CB on either 4 or 16 swapping back and forth.
