Yesterday I drove from Fort Leonard Wood to Seymour Missouri to check out the Wheelers for the Wounded event that as posted here. Thank you to Ghost00TJ (http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/member.php?u=402) and his family, Tiff (http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/member.php?u=699), "Mash the Pedal" Mike (prior Air Force guy we met who said he would sign up here) and the people at SMORR (Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch).

It was a fun time and they raffled off a bunch of stuff. I even got a chance to ride shotgun with Larry (Ghost00TJ (http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/member.php?u=402)) and we got some photos an videos.

They have some tough trails although I only saw a small portion of what SMORR had to offer, it looked like a really fun place to wheel. I think that Larry sold everyone on his tires after they saw him nail a hill open open that some that are locked have problems with.

Here are a few photos.

This was at the entrance to the ranch.

This is a photo of Larry on the trail:

This is a photo after we got done with two of the trails. Larry got them to go on a quick ride so I could get out on the trails since I only drove a rental car and did not have my jeep with me.

here are all the pics we had minus the ones Miljeep has. Miljeep, a brand new JK Rubicon with a 4" BDS showed up Sunday so pedlal mashing Mike and I took him the same way we went gaurdrail, stocker stumper, plus 3 more or so (he did well) although going up the end of gaurdrail he powered out and then had to lock, it pulled away just fine then. Glad you were able to make it.

It looks like everyone had fun. Thats when it's nice. How far is this place from St. Louis? Is there any trails for ATV's? Just wondering. My son and his friends usually go to the Badlands twice a year with their ATV's. This would be another option. They head down into lower Mo. for float trips and such.

I saw vehicles other than jeeps there. I think one was a mule, another was an old pickup. The trails were nice, but very different than what I am used to. I do think that in some of the parts such as the hill climb where it was loose gravel on a steep long hill, my jeep may have had some issues due to the weight. Larry stomped on the skinny pedal and made his way up the hill like it was nothing. It was pretty fun to sit shotgun during that ride, especially that hill climb. I was not sure he would be able to do it open, but damn, he did good.

Tiff drove from ST Louis ~3hrs I think he said, there were a couple ATVs but the mule things were from the ranch, you would have to email on SMORR site and see for sure but i didnt see any dedicated riding area for them.

Yea, it's an easy drive from St. Louis. Go west on 44 to Marshfield. Jump off at hwy 38 and go into town. Take "A" south and it comes out on Hwy 60. That cuts off about an hour if you go all the way to Springfield, then west on 60. Probably my favorite all around off road ranch. Don't think they allow the ATV's though. Contact Brandon (owner) and he can give you the scoop. I strongly suggest you go if you get a chance.
