Some of you may know we have been having severe problems with our landlord since may--hence the move--wanted to update yall a bit--went to "eviction court" today(we moved out last week) and told the judge that we surrendered the property already and the money he is cliaming is this court case is the same thing he is claiming in civil court(9/5). Judge reviewed that case and told our landlord that this case is being dismissed because you cant sue somebody for the same thing in two different courts and he pissed the judge off pretty bad, judge said there are two ways he could leave the court room-on his own or in handcuffs--neeldess to say landlord wasnt very happy but finally some justice for us.
So 1 court case down and 2 to go--civil(small cliams) and criminal(for him).

a small victory is a victory non-the-less. Glad the judge was able to see past the ex-landlord's games. Hopefully he gets what is coming to him.

No they don't :D and that's a good thing.

So some Aftershock, Cuervo, and some beer....... not that I have topo maps of his place or anything. :D

Nay so far we are winning the legal battles over it, while I would like to do nothing more than go pound someone into a pulp and spread the pieces over a few local pig farms. I did promise not to do anything to get arrested over this already.

Though we did get a good laugh when we found out he is selling the house as is for $300k. Figuring there are two other houses that have been on the market for awhile now (1 nearly 2yrs) that are priced close to the same and don't have near the problems that one does.

It may be wise to take records of the outcome of this court case back to the other civil trial. That way you have records to show the other judge what this one has already seen. Perhaps that will piss the other judge off as well and will lead to expediting the criminal trial.... :)

Had a restraining order issued last friday (9/5) and his criminal trial was today(for the phone threats). He had a lawyer this time and his lawyer convinced him to take a plea bargin to one of the counts and he was ordered to pay a $250 fine and an no conact order was issued, bascially a slap on the wrist in our opinon.
Not very happy, we believe he should of gotten a harsher punishment.
We have civil(small claims) court this friday where he is sueing us for the propety damage, so keep your fingers crossed that goes well for us.
