Here is the info for Midwestjeepthing Six Annual Alley Springs run set for Labor Day weekend Aug 29-Sept1, 2008. Like in the past we will be running the back roads near the Alley Springs/Jacks Fork/Current River/Mark Twain National Forest area. This is set up as an easy trail run, ideal for beginners, but is also a way to come out and enjoy the scenery with family and friends. Come out for the day or for the whole weekend.
There will be two runs scheduled, one on Sat. Aug 30th and one on Sun. Aug 31st. We will meet at the Alley Springs Mill parking lot at 10:00 am., departing by 10:30 am. The meeting times and place will be the same both days. Bring your lunch and non-alcoholic drinks for the trail, as we usually try to find a nice spot on the river to break for lunch. Here is a map to the
meeting location:

Camping:
My family will be camping again in the Alley Springs Campground. This is in the National Park. The rate for camping is $14 per night for up to 6 people, $17 per night for electric sites. We usually start in the "600" loop and then overflow into other areas. More information can be found here:

Reservations can be made here:
http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/mo/alsp/newindex.html
There are several hotels/cottages in town for those not wishing to camp.
Everyone must make their own arrangements for accommodations, and it is recommended that you make them as soon as possible, since most places fill up for the holiday weekend.
