Fellas,Good News,December21,Sammy went in for Implant Surgery of Vegas Nerve Stimulator. The Stimulator is installed just above his heart and leads are then mounted on the Vegas Nerve. For those of you that do not know The Vegas Nerve is responsible for controlling epileptic siezures. The Surgery is very similiar pacemaker implants. My son for the last 11 months has had to deal both Grand Mal and petty siezures on a daily basis. To the point where he has missed almost 3months of school this term. All of the Prescription drugs on the market have had very limited success in management of his condition. The surgery has gone well and now his neurologist is waiting a week before we begin to turn on the stimular and begin to tune in the settings he will need to manage things.Son and parents are both home waiting to follow up.
