I have been going crazy since the mention of the event. In fact, my cj is far more capable than ever before (all new drivetrain -tranny/tc, wheels/tires, and suspension) and i am even buying myself a trailer to cart her fat ass around on. it will be over a year since the last time i went wheeling (last camp mj) and i couldnt be more excited.

Still trying to get mine all buttoned up. Cage is fixed and seats should go in this week. Then I have to paint it. Need to figure out if my driver rear shaft is bent or if ti is the wheel or tire. Then just some regular maintenance items. Yes I am excited.

The last time we went wheeling your rear tires looked like they had some kind of whobble but the wheels were fine, if you remember that conversation at URE. Unless its something new that you might be feeling. I will be taking leave for that weekend just to make sure I dont get tasked with something retarted. I will be the spotter/copilot, my jeep wont be done.

Yeah yeah. Only issue I have had with it. Going today to get bolts to hopefully finish my cage. Then put the Jeep in the garage and fix the wheel cylinders.

Just need to figure out what the F it is and fix it.Prop up the rear axle on jack stands, have it in gear at idle, just stand in the back and you will see what I mean. From what I remember, riding behind you it looked as if the tires were out of round.

I'm lookin forward to MJ weekend. Another couple days on the trail this year and with great crowd.
Already been wheeling every weekend for past 6wks and wheelin each weekend through MJ. I've started just leavin the CJ on the trailer, beats unstrappin an restrappin. Plus easier to work on while on the trailer.

lucky bastard. I havent wheeled since last years mj. The CJ is totally different this time around though. went from a 258 to a 360, stock wide tracks to d44's and detroits, 37's, soa, and more. I am anxious as hell to see what she'll do.

Even though you haven't been on the trails, have gotten some really good upgrades applied. Look forward to seeing you and your rig again.

Honestly I'm very jealous. One of the best looking CJs on MJ in my opinion. Do you have your steering box you were talking about? If not I have a MORE HD box

why thank you. it showed up yesterday along with the ps cooler. On tuesday the new bumper, wheel spacers, ruff stuff diff cover, and borgeson steering shaft came. I already have the MORE mount. My hydroboost setup, and my currie ez-deflator should be here today or tomorrow.

this new steering box is HUGE, and heavy. Its strange to think when i stand here looking at it that there is $600 sitting there in just a steering box. It better last a very long time and work extremely well. I got the one with the ram assist ports on it so i can eventually add it on.

eventually I will add corner armor and metalcloaks, a TC rebuild with the 4:1 gears, rebuild the 360, switch to an ox locker in the rear, and OBA. As much as I dont like comp cut cj's, I think I might stretch the wheelbase a little someday too.

Did they steal the cage I drug all the way down to VA? I may not make it to MJ. After that flip and it being fixed and the fan going nuts and killing the radiator again as well as the vacuum advance. Have had bad luck. Good thing is I have an offroad park real close to me now.

gunzmcghee
05-18-2012, 01:57
I hear ya rob. I can't make it to crap. I'm 800 miles away. Not to mention the CJ isn't the most reliable jeep in the world.

yep, some spooby probably thought it would make good scrap. I bought one from a nova jeepers guy for $75 which isnt bad but still pissed me off

That thing caused me a ton of wind resistance from those tiny feet plates on it. 9 miles to the gallon while it was on there lol. Damn spoobys. I hate neighbors. Yeah Dan I'm part of the Midwest crowd now but close enough for east coast events. How Ohio is considered mid west ill never know.

gunzmcghee
05-18-2012, 03:19
I'd say Ohio is mid Midwest. My 258s a knockin now.. great. Still runs like a champion though.. sounds like a slight rod knock. Maybe its because of the oil leak. Doesn't do it all the time.
