Ft. Story, VA

Anyone at or know someone at Ft. Story, VA? I just got orders to move there when I get back from Iraq. 11th Transportation BN.

Here's the thing. I'll have to extend about 8 months to go there. Or I could turn it down and pray that I don't get deployed a third time in Ft. Drum and ETS when I'm supposed to. My goal is just to get out, I'm sick of the military.

Any thoughts? I'd like to hear about Ft. Story so I can weigh my options. Thanks.

Im not station down here but I am at Va, Beach right now and it totally sucks LOL No just kidding the weather is awesome and the sand is soft. I wish I got stationed at an area like this when I was in. Heres there link to check out.

I'm actually from VA Beach so that's nice too. The more I think about it, the more it seems like I should just extend and go there. And knowing 10MTN there's no way they'd just let me leave, I'd get stop lossed and deployed again.

I just really hate that I have to extend for it.

I don't work there but I've been there. It is nice in a sleepy hollow kind of way. It is out of the huslte of the the NoVA/DC area.

Well I'm pretty much settled on extending for Story. Wonder if they'll give me BAH for a single E4....I can always hope...

Ft Story is GREAT duty, especially if you like beaches and ocean!
