I am here, watch for me. I have an 06 Unlimited with some stuff on it and I will have 35s to replace my 33s once we close on a house. Unfortunately, my jeep is in the garage getting some work done on it as I type this, but I gues that is a good thing since if it has taken them a day to try to find out what is wrong, it probably would have taken me a year.

I trailered my jeep down, and even saw some new members sign up from areas that we drove through on the days that we drove through those areas. I guess the "MilitaryJeepers.com" stickers all over the jeep worked a little.

As soon as the jeep is back on the road and I get through inprocessing, maybe we can hit a trail or two.

Glad you made it safe Ryan! There's some beautiful areas down that way.

Not sure if they let people wheel on post anymore, we used to be able to get a pass for the day, and wheel in any open training areas, it was a blast!

Thanks. Right now my jeep is deadlined, so not much exploring post for me. I was at Hood from 97-00, so I have a general idea of the area.

A few days before we rolled out, my engine started to cut out and I got the P0339 error code. I changed the crankshaft sensor, then trailered it to TX ince it worked only for a little bit. We got some intel that the error code may also be for the camshaft sensor, so we cleaned it and then went to the dealer today to get a new one. We found out that even if we replaced the camshaft sensor, we would have to have the timing set to zero with a computer. They also told me it is still under warranty and to bring it in. It has been in there all day today, and they think it may be some wiring issues. I hope that it is still warranty work once they find out what is wrong with it.

Hey! We were there at the same time! I left Hood in Feb 0f '98, soon after 'Intrensic Action 97-02' in Kuwait.

I was a Wrench Jockey (mechanic) with the 3/82 FA, 1st CAV.

I have seen lots of Jeeps on hood and a few gave me a wave back. Some looked at me like I had a **** sticking out of my forehead. I saw a black TJ with what looked like a 35 where the rear seat should be, a silver JK set up pretty nice, a green LJ behind a dealership with a LA, snorkel and plates saying something like "the General" and some other jeeps.

Once we get settled into our home in Harker Heights, I am going to throw up a meet and greet / bbq type thing and see if anyone shows up.

Gald you and the family made it to Hood Ryan. Tell Janice ("Mrs miljeep") I said hello. :)

Was at Hood myself (III Corps Topo Eng Co) "back in the day"....I think Shermans were the "State-of-the-Art" then.....:D:beer:

We get our house this Friday and our household goods are delivered Monday. Once we get settled in a little, I will post up a BBQ if anyone around the Fort Hood area will be interested at the time.

I've been at Hood since 2005. I have noticed that many other individuals, primarily women do not return the Jeep wave. This area just isn't Jeep wave friendly. but i digress. As for the meet and greet, did that already happen or no? I'd like to meet some others from the area to go wheeling with

I have yet to have a meet and greet. It seems like most of the jeeps I wave to don't even think about waving back.

I may just post something up and see if anyone shows up, but I am not really sure of a good place to go around the Fort Hood area. I would like to find a pace where there is decent parking and where they would be willing to work with me to get tables put together incase a good number of people sign up.

Have you posted anything over on JF about it? If you want I can start poaching people in your area from there. I remember at least five or six guys from hood over there when I used to check it. Haven't been over there in months, but it's worth a shot.

I will be back to Hood for my R&R the 3rd week of Jan. Im down if anything is planned around that time. As for the wave, I hate to say it but it could be my wife (blue TJ, tan top, with 33's and 4" lift). She gets a kick out of other Jeepers waving and is usually too suprised to return it.

I have been trying to wrangler up some folks down here, but many jeeps I see are driven by people that don't want to get them dirty. Every time I see a jeep at a gas station on the base I pull in to chat with them a little, but there may have been one out of the many I chatted with that actually signed up.

I would like to start getting some meet and greets going to try to meet some more folks, maybe I will just post one for during the holiday schedule and see if anyone shows. This way it will be easier to try to get people to go out for a bite to eat and some jeep talk when others start heading back from overseas. It is also a good chance for anyone with a family to get the family out for a bite to eat and some conversation.

what's up miljeep? it has been a while since i logged on here. There not that friendly here for some reason, but i think a meet and greet would be a good idea.

Maybe during the holiday break since people probably are not going to be working that late in the day. I know our unit is on a half day schedule, but I am not really sure what the rest of Hood is doing.

I did notice that while driving to PT friday, there was almost no traffic on the road and i just drove right up to the gate without waiting at all.
