I'm at a loss....
I've spent the past 3 days installing the currie 4" lift, anti-rock and steering.
Everything is on, but everything is not right.
Right now I didn't feel safe driving my jeep back up to fairfax, so it's parked in the lot next to the hobby shop.
From what I can tell, the main issue is the steering.... turns way to far in one direction, not far enough in the other. There's a few zerks I cant get grease through. Still need to lower the brake lines.
Also, I had a hard time trying to get the front axle centered.. I highly doubt it is. The rear axle came with a track bar relocate bracket; however, the rear axle still looks like it sticks out further on the passenger side.
And I still need to get the front drive shaft on.
Is there anyone in the area that has done this before that can give me a hand in the next few days?
Unfortunately, the hobby shop is closed until wednesday, but I'll wrench anywhere... I just need to get it done, this is really my only mode of transportation.

I might have to take you up on that... I'll let you know.
Guess what I found after you left this morning.

That's what I'm thinking, but the shop was closing down and I had to move it out.

Black Rubicon sitting outside the hobby shop?
If so, I stopped and looked at it today. The front axle is not centered and the front passenger tire toe is waaaay off to the outside.
Call me at 703-732-1522 and I can help. I will be in a medical appointment this afternoon so leave a message with your call back number if I dont answer.
When you come back here bring three stiff yardsticks (preferably metal) and a steel tape measure so we can get your wheels straight. You can do it with just paint, but the way I will show you is alot more precise.
Before you come back out. read this:

I probably won't be back out there until wednesday afternoon, unless you think we can get it set in the parking lot. I have tomorrow off.
I'm also assuming I'll need to remove the draglink at the pitman arm to center off the steering wheel?
I've been reading stu's sites, I think I've just been working on it so long things are mixing together.
I'll give you a call later this afternoon.
Thanks.

I am working while on leave  getting ready to depart for the 1SG course on Fri.
Since I have flexibility, I can come by the craft shop and help on Wed for awhile. you just need to get you toe squared away then center the axle. you can center the steering wheel by just adjusting the draglink unless its waaay off.
First, pull the tie rod. Then straighten the tires/wheels and measure the distance between the outside of the tires front and back to be equal. (Ill show you how to do this with the yardsticks) Then remove the tie rod ends. Re install and adjust in the same amount each side until you can install the tie rod. Re install tie rod. Make fine adjustment until the measurement is correct and tighten the collar.
Ill show you how to center the axle as well.
It needs to be on a lift or stands.

If anyone's looking to kill some time tomorrow, I'll be back at the hobby shop from 1-7. I think the only thing I have left to do is adjust the pinion angle of the front axle. I'm having issues with the currie draglink hitting the sway bar link on the passenger side at full droop and was told it was more than likely my caster.
Anybody else install the currie steering and have issues with it hitting the swaybar link/bracket?

wish you guys the best of luck with that, i'd help if i could, but i'm still learning all this stuff
Once you get everything adjusted and put back together, check out Stu Olsens website. He has a piece on steering stops. If it is still hitting the bracket, you may have to add a few washers to your steering stops. Stu has pictures on how to do this.

Got everything done... for the most part.
I re-adjusted the camber, got it to 5.5 degrees and the pinion angle at 1 degree.
It still appears the steering might hit the sway bar arm mount... I've got someone looking at it for me on monday hopefully.
Other than that, I need to get an alignment and everything should be done.
Got it on the road tonight and took it up to 65 w/o any signs of death wobble.
