Four teenagers were killed in a car crash just before 1:00 Saturday afternoon, Kentucky State Police troopers said. Officials say weather played a factor in the crash. Jonathan Miracle, 18, Jessica and Wesley Ingram, both 16, and Daniel Campbell, 15, were killed. Miracle was driving. Jessica and Wesley were twins. The teens were traveling south on US 25-E in Pineville when the driver lost control in the ice and snow and hit a coal truck. The truck driver, Dwight Robinson, Jr., 34, was not hurt. Campbell, Jessica Ingram and Wesley Ingram were all part of the Bell County High School Air Force Junior ROTC and were on their way to Harlan, Ky. to march in a Christmas parade.
Thought I would share this because this road is often frequented by jeepers goin to wheel in the mountains. I know of some Knox guys that go through this way to wheel on Black Mtn. via 25E. These roads are bad from Dec. to Feb. I grew up here and this is where I will call home after my 20. Please be careful if you plan any trips here (or anywhere for that matter). Check WYMT.com for weather and road conditions as these mountain roads are unforgiving and with all the coal trucks coming down off the mtn you just never know. Thought I would pass this sad news on. All good kids. All going in positive directions. I would hate to see anything happen to any of you or your families. What a very sad day today is. Say a prayer for these dear families and if you have them...kiss your babies. Stay Safe Guys.
