Thinking of using bed liner on my bumpers

ElevatorGuy (scott) used some type of bedliner on his bumpers that he got from eddie. I really liked the look of them, but I already primed and painted my bumpers and don't want to have to sand it all off to do the bedliner if I don't have to. Can I just spray or roll bedliner over the paint?

I wouldn't do it. Most of the bed liner stuff will scratch off when it meets a nice rock, and then you really can't repair it.

I used spray paint, and when it gets messed up, I simply sand and re-apply.

Although I don't think it is that hard to repair if you use a roll on bedliner, I have to agree, rattle can is much easier and you may be doing this often if you are wheeling properly...;)

I used Duplicolor (I think) spray can bedliner from auto zone on the four corners of my YJ. It is super easy to touch up any dings. The stuff is easy to apply and blends well.

make sure you scuff the paint, get off any loose paint, and clean it good before you apply the bedliner. i used some spray stuff on my class 2 hitch when i took it off my 02tj and transfered it to my 06 Rubicon. only thing is make sure it cures really good between coats. and let it cure a day or two before reistalling it.

Scott used Duplicolor bed-liner (can). Jeff came up with that idea and we decided to copy him. :) It takes about 10 minutes to fully cure, 3 coats will have your bumper looking like if it was powder coated. Each can goes for around $8.50 and you can buy them in Auto Zone. Two cans per bumper do the job.

I like the way it looked. I just don't know if I can just spray it over the paint I already have on there.

We have a guy in town that painted the outside of his entire Cherokee in bedliner. The thing must weigh a ton...

i don't think it's to bad i know i guy back home that had an 86 ford the same way and it was awsome, after you go wheelin you just hose it off
