There is a snowmobile club that is tryin to get the road closed to only there use in the winter and then no use in the summer!
Here is the petition http://www.gopetition.com/online/24581.html
Exploringnh.com just did a trail clean up on this trail this summer and cleaned up over 150 tires and a couple full size trucks full of trash.
Here is the link to what the trail looked like prior to the clean up.

wife did it too :)
I think that it is crappy that the snowmobile club wants the road blocked year round. I did like how the forum you linked to mentioned that the clubs / people should work together on this issue and if the jeepers do see snomobile tracks on the road in the winter, stay off it until spring.
Problem is that there are some stupid people out there that won't listen, and they will wreck it for everyone else.
If I were them, versus closing it year round I would suggest to go with the close for 1/4 of the year from x date to x date and then keep it open the other 3/4 of the year for other vehicle usage.
Not sure if a person from Texas signing the petition will help, but I did it yesterday. Good luck

well what the issue is is that they snowmobile pres. hates offroaders!
We offered for them to come down and help clean up they refused in a very vocal way.
All Class VI roads in the state are closed to everything but snowmobiles from 15 Dec till 1 Apr.
The snowmobile club sent some really nasty emails to one of our members after the trail clean up. The jest of it was that 4x4 vehicles have been tearin up the trail for years and that he will get it closed.
One good thing about this is that we have some of the town employees on our side.
As for out of state people signin it that is a good thing! NH makes all its money off people coming to see this great state for what ever reason it maybe. The downside is that snowmobiling is the states largest income at 1.3 billion a year. The snowmobiling clubs are organized and have deep roots in the state where offroading is just getting started.
Hey yall thanks for all the help!
Signed it a few days back Soup :)

IMPORTANT
http://forums.exploringnh.com/images/chestnut/misc/citation.gif
There will not be any chance of this issue being discussed or decided on Monday [1/26] because the Board of Selectmen agreed to push the issue to a future meeting due to the amount of interest shown.
The issue has been dropped from the agenda thanks to the huge amount of interest generated. Great job everyone. Until it gets brought up again, the road is open.
It goes without saying, but please continue to stay off snowmobile trails. ;)
Seems like the pressure has worked for now. Thanks guy for all the help!
