Really easy. I'll show you on sunday. I have one in the back of my jeep. I actually used it a couple months ago pulling a rubicon stuck to its frame out.

If those here want me to. I have been to the Army wheeled and tracked recovery course, and studied it more on my own.

Also, yes - I set up alot of the recovery section on Beltway and with others teach the actual hands on course for the club when we have it. However, in Beltway the real recovery guru is Fifthpro. :)

Eddie,
Check out the WARN .pdf file posted under Recovery/Winching Basics. It has a good bit of info on Snatch Blocks, usage, single and double line pulls as well as re-directs. Enjoy!

Cheers!

Many thanks, I'll check it out. Like to get some knowledge 'fore I need to call on my reco gear. My crash course class was Korisu56's recovery on "axle day". I was surprised at how easy his rig came out of the trench with the snatch block set up a few feet up a tree, he made it look way easy.

I've had lots of practice recovering myself. I knew how to do the axle tie down, but not the actual details(one of those 'I've seen that before'). Luckily others bailed me out on that. At any rate, make sure you read that thing over. My winch has done an amazing job considering how crappy I've kept it. Now that I know better, I will definitely do better. The obvious upside is that now I get synthetic!!
