Blackstone for AT

well, looks like i am headed to blackstone for AT(Ft. Pickett) little po-dunk post been BRAC'd twice and the guard and reserve got it back twice. gonna be there from the 29th of feb for 10 days. so if anybody knows about some good wheelin down there, and wants to wheel one afternoon If i am able to get the jeep, please come save me from that damn TOWN!

Ha, Ha! no more Ft dickett for me. Im out in March! Been there to many time. 4 for SRC..... 4or5 for AT.

There are a few good trails to the tree stands I've found, lotta holes and nothing too technical. Supposedly down near the campsites theres more, I havn't hit 'em yet though...F Blackstone! I feel you man, that place will suck out your will to live if your stuck there long enough!

camp sites? tree stands? is this on post? all i knew about on post was the mounted land nav course and some other stupid stuff here and there(buddy of mine is range control down there)

Yeah, it's there if you sniff around, theres a bunch of trails, some of which were roads back in the '40s-'50s near the RTI area of of West Parade (?) with some mud holes and there's great trails out off of the range roads, you can access some of them if you come in off of RT 40, but if you have a pal there, maybe you can go in the regular way on post. If you pass the main gate on Rt 40, leaving Blackstone, a few miles down (near the airfield) on the left, there is a pulloff to an open end of post with alot of good trails in the woods that I've taken my Jeep on, some are to tough for my "stocker" ride height though. We've run HMMVW and HMMET (?sp) off road drivers training courses back there, lot's of fun spots to play.
