Chris broke his axle today. wheeling. We trailered it back, but had a flat on the trailer. Still stuck on 66. This sucks, but surely sucks fcr chris more than me or josh. Josh is going to try to get a spare for the trailer.

UPDATE: We made it back around 2145.

Ryan,
Do they still need help getting the new tire on?
I can drive out if need be.
Give my Cell a call if they do. 571-228-7009

Also, I can give DJ a call and see if one of his two trailers are empty. Can least get the Jeep home, and limp the trailer back empty.

Where on I66 are they?

I gave them the tow truck number of the company that got Levi's jeep back to my house from GWNF when he hydrolocked. I know they call them, but I haven't heard an update since then.

Well if someone hears from them, DJ would most likely just want a couple of beers and an invite for wheeling next time if he was available.

Or if nothing else if the kids and wife are still with him, I can drive the Blazer out and get them home.

Thanks all. We just got back. josh made the run back to get a new tire. I could not see replies to the post i made on the blackberry, otherwise I would have responded. JeepinSoldier and FifthPro would not have known where to start today.

This was definately a day to learn about all different forms of recovery.

Thanks a load everyone. Had a good day in my book. Nothing like breaking shit, hooking up, breaking more shit, unhooking, hooking up, and getting home. Definitely a good day guys. Sorry I slowed/ruined it. Next time I'll wait till the end to push.

Diego, I will make that line sucker. And I'll finish it. Wait till the 8.8's in.

Chris,

Thanks for setting this up today. I had a blast. And hey, if nothing else, feel good about the fact that a few of us got to learn some new "get your rig out of the woods with a broken 35" tricks.

Hey, same shit happen to me when I went to NC to pick up my YJ. Flat trailer tire and a stiff highway bill to fix it made a 9 hour trip into 14. I feel your pain.

After you all left, Devidog and I went back in and made it out. That trail is like the Energizer Bunny.

Its a nice trail if you air down and have comfortable seats.

Next time send out the Jeep Signal. Few of us know people with trailers along I66.

Yeah, I got your voicemail at about 2245 when I got my phone plugged in. What happened with yours?

Mike's going to look at it and try to get a spare shaft in there. I will be building my axle on Saturday at Greg's. I will pick up that tie rod for you Rick. This has been an awakening to get it on/in. Greg's saying he will gear and weld the brackets on the axle. Hopefully that means he'll get it in. Then, I'll just take the front drive shaft off until Mike can get around to regearing the front. It's winding up to be a shitty mess. I may just pay mike to do everything in a single shot.
