View Full Version : I HATE CORY's JEEP
Put a Body Lift and MML on Cory's rig last night. BL went on with ease in about an hour. MML on the other hand was not as coorperative. Long short after too many hours fighting, he drove away last night at midnight after getting started around 7. Ended up installing, removing, installing and fighting one stupid bolt. Then Jeep wouldn't start in all our fighting he threw off the timing. I quixk turn and he was good. A short test drive and I was in my bed by 1230 even after a shower

Was it a bolt near the AC compressor? I remember reading somewhere that it is easier to put that bolt in upside down or something like that. Never done one, just curious so when I do mine I know what to expect.

If I had known you were doing a MML, I would have told you the trick we learned and you could have had it done in an hour or less. It is one bolt that is a PITA, but our trick fixed that.

I didnt know you were doig the MML I would of came back down to the garrage.
I thought you all only had the 2 rear BL mounts to do when I went to eat LOL.
Remeber mine I had to trake the 3 MM bracket bolts off the engine block to get the bolt out/in.

mine was a pain on my old tj, did in the driveway finally got it by doing one side at a time and using a jack below the motor to help position the motor. That why I'm going to beg for help on the jk in the next couple weeks. Aiming for before smorr. I want to doing a body lift and 2.5 tera flex. Hopefully throtle body spacer and air raid intake. I very slight maybe a chip. An takers. LOL
Well after the install he knocked hi timing causeing a Check Engine Light and we knocked a vacume line somewehre casueing no cruise control. He went to firestone today and a "mechanic" there told him his engune is to high and he is going to blow a bearingso he got a little scared about it and pulled the MML off today. Oh well saylave

MECHANIC AT FIRESTONE!?!?!?!?!? LMAO!!!!!!
WTF is saylave...I have heard it before...I just don't know what it means.
Oh, and to talk about doing something more than once...or more than twice....I am dropping my front axle for the third time this weekend to put in some lower bump stops since I was rubbing like crazy last weekend.
Say.....La...Veee
The mechanic at firestone removed the MM LIft for him for $25

HHHMMMM $25....think they would install one for that? Mechanic or not...$25 for a MML install is cheap.
I knew how to say it...WTF does it mean? Don't make me google it.
It is what it is or so Be it......

Bump stops aren't the answer, cutting is.
I wouldn't sacrifice flex either. I'd either trim, get a bigger lift or smaller tires

No problem bring it over Sunday if you have the stuff ready or we can doit next weekend 14th and 15th is probably better. We should be able to knock that stuff out fairly quick if Fred and Cory just watch, if they help it may take a few days JUST KIDDING. Lets see MML 1 hour, BL 1.5 hours, 2.5 suspension maybe 3hours but with a 1 guy on the MML and 2 on the BL then all on the tera flex maybe 3 hours all together ha ha if it all goes right.
IF all goes right is magic word here. If any of you TJ owners are looking for MML I bet I can get you one cheap from Cory

I Dont have the stuff ready yet, taxes will be here any day now. I going to say proably will not make it for SMORR. Since I have to go to michgan next weekend to pick up my camper trailer, then the next wensday thru friday will be in georgia TDY. So we will see what happens, but if i have to go to smorr as is i will be ok, Rubi is more than capable as is. Will be greatfull for the help when we do it.

First dibs. I will give Corey a call. Is he going to the BBQ at Ross's?

I have a 2" lift and 31s. I am not cutting. I have the lower bump stops that go on the bottom side of the springs that are 2" long. I am going to add them since I didn't add any bump stops to the front when I lifted because we moved them to the rear. Remember...?
Yep, he has a funeral then he will be coming out

You won't have to do any of the cutting, just go inside hang with the wives. When you come out the cutting will be all done.:D

I am an artist with that die cutter. I have chopped Larry's Jeep, Cut on Ross's jeep, removed additional metal from my fenders, all that leaves is yours.

I have my own die cutter thank you. Now I am going to have to watch my Jeep when you are around. Especialy if there is an air compressor or any cutting tools. It would be more than sheet metal getting cut to stop my rubbing anyway. The back side of my tires are catching the top spring tower pretty bad at full stuff. I either need new wheels, wheel spacers, or bump stops. I am gonna try the bump stops. When I need more room later down the road I am going to make tube fenders.
