Hey everyone, I was just gonna see if anyone knows of/about 4x4 or fabrication shops in the SW MO area......I am about to attend Wyo-tech and have strong asperations to open my own shop when i'm out of school. Anyone know of other shops around the area? Also i'm trying to gauge interest/need for such a place. Most likely based out of Springfield. I've have all of ya hooked up just gonna take me a couple more years :D

You would probably make a killing if you were able to open something up really close to Ft. Leonard Wood. Lots of Jeeps and other offroad vehicles. Lots of steady paychecks that get spent on them. Coolest part is there is always a fresh market because of people moving in and out all the time.

there are a couple shops just outside springfield, I sell stuff to alot of people from springfield, enough that I have a guy there that takes orders and delivers them there.
Ft Wood would be a nice place, I am about 35-40 miles from there and get alot of work from that area. If you are going to open a shop, invest in insurance first and foremost. And be sure you have all your paperwork stuff in order, that will make it easier. Also be creative and make sure you enjoy doing it. I feel sometimes that I just work work work and start losing my enjoyment. Then I wheel for a day and remember why I build rigs for people and modify them. I love doing V8 swaps.
So come on down to this area, and I can throw you some overflow work when I get it (if you are really good). I am getting into my new shop soon, so if you need space to start up, I might have enough to help you out.

Sounds awesome. Thanks for the info on the area, it'll be awhile before I can get it actually going. Priority #1 is finishing up my tour in Egypt and then ACAPing (CANT WAIT!!!) Priority #2 is actually getting my certification and good schooling at Wyo-Tech, planning on going for chasis fabrication. When I get back in Springfield though i'm sure i'll definately stay in touch over the time being!

What up rockcrawlinhinfo!(Josh) hey CJ2aChad I bought my H1 rims and tires from him and he can fab some stuff also, nice buggy getting built there.
There is a big Jeep following in the Springfield area. I would think anything near SMORR would get business. I know the parts business close would do well.
