Well I'm happy with my beater, it did me proud yesterday. I and several of my Soldiers were stuck out at the residue yard yesterday when the fire came across the hardball. We had the fun experience of helping clear out the AHA and all personnel in the area. And seeing as how the hardball was no more, we got to go cross country down range. The real exciting part was when the fire almost overtook us because we had 4 different vehicle sunk to the frame rails in mud. 3 POV's, and 1 LHS loaded down with live ammo. And for some reason, I was the only one that had a recovery strap. My little banger of a Cherokee pulled out a Dakota, a Colorado, and a Camry of all things. Course, that LHS was screwed. We cross loaded the ammo and tried recovering it with another, but it was sunk way too bad. Could'nt even budge it in 8x8 drive Lo. So when the fire got within 50 ft or so, we abandoned the thing and hauled a$$. Despite all the smoke inhalation, heat, and possible death, it was a fun little trip. Sad what a guy has to do to play in some mud and go wheeling.
