I have been looking for an excuse to clean up my Jeep and get all the winter mud off it and deer blood and dirt out of the inside. Anyone else up for a local show and shine? I think it would be a great opportunity to get the word out to other Jeepers and for members to meet. It would also be a great opportunity to see each other's mods so we can share ideas. We could do it somewhere very visible like Pepper's or one of the restaurants down the main strip. What do you all think?

If you are up for it, reply with a date, location, and any other ideas you have for the event.

I think this would be a good time to see if the "Guidon" might want to come out and do a story on us to get the word out more. Maybe if we come up with a date and time, a few of us can call them and try to get them to come out and cover it.

I missed your call man the phone was on vibe lol.

Yea we could do something like that I guess. A friend of mine owns Moon Star its right on MO ave in St Robert everyone driving on and off post would see us.

What about that auto place right outside the main gate on the right? I saw some jeeps out there when I was there for a school. If told to them the right way, it could generate some traffic to their dealership if they help promote it and put an effort into it.

The corner by shangan's seems to be visible from that intersection. There were corvette there yesterday. I'm up dang have to clean the dog hairout. 2nd or 3rd weekend of april is good for me. All other busy as heck.

Ghost00TJ
03-15-2009, 10:26
yea Cphill- Shananigans is a good corner, people have to wait a the stop lights and can look around a bit. Just need a couple bid rocks in the parking lot:D

Whether it shines or not, your XJ will draw alot of attention. Especially from the wheeling crowd.

I was actually thinking about NAPA. I was going to see if they would offer chapter discounts if we had an event there to bring in some business for them.

PS- Larry, your sig is jacking up all the threads.....LOL

Jacob
04-23-2009, 11:27
Talked to the owner at NAPA and she said we are good to go with an event in their parking lot with two stipulations. We have to have it on a weekend, and we have to let her know when. Since we are in the paper, and a few of you asked about this at the BBQ, I think we should start wrapping our heads around a date. If we do get a few new members, this will be a great opportunity to meet them and get everyone introduced. It will also provide us the opportunity to get a few more new members. Larry, we will need your banner again of course.

If anyone has any other suggestions for a location please give input and do the leg work to make sure they will allow it. I thought NAPA was the best because what better place to have an urban Jeep gathering than in a parts store parking lot. The folks at NAPA have always been real good to me, and they provide a military discount, so I thought it may also serve a purpose to give them a little attention too. And it is visible from the main strip through town. Just my ideas on the location.

I'm game just need to let me know when and where and what you need from me. Think we could find, borrow make some Ramps like RTI to show off our rigs.

Jacob
04-23-2009, 20:59
Anyone have any connections with an Offroad shop that would "sponsor" us in a small event and loan us a ramp in exchange for flying their banner at an event that would possibly give them business from visibility to soldiers going on and off post? We might even set something up for them to give us some small freebies for a raffle.

I could definately make one if we can come up with some square tubing, angle, and mesh. Or we could all chip in and buy the steel to build one.

RTI ramps will always draw a crowd. Plans look good just need to add an additional axle tube and hitch mount that helps to transport, turns it into a trailer. If you need help I think we still have the plans on file somewhere or I can get pics next week.

Jacob
04-23-2009, 21:35
I just found those somewhere to throw up and give them an idea of materials needed if we want to try to come up with them to build one. I like the idea of an axle and hitch, but I am not sure how much we would move it other than this one event. It will probably just end up being a yard ornament at Larry's house for future FLW MJers. I would definately like to see your plans if you still have them.

Fred
04-23-2009, 21:55
Someone Contact 4WS in Springfield. Maybe one of the other Clubs around here have a ramp or two we can borrow. And we can also contact our "sponsors" we advertise for too set up small tents for advertising. When we have a date I can contact a few dealers and they can bring a jeep or two out. WE need not limit to Jeeps but maybe 4 wheel drives in general.

Are we looking at doing this as a fund raiser at all or just all for fun? If for a fund raiser we can charge a registration fee of like $5 per vehicle and $1 per person entrance fee. IF we are going to do open to the public we will need to advertise anyway, if its just going to be a MJ thing there is no logistics involved.

SO my suggestions are we do a 4wd Show.

We open it to the public

We have judged catagories

By doing judgeing we will need to do some fees for awards $5 per vehicle we collect and $1 admission maybe a donation box and work that on honor system. Any left over cash can go to Larry to pay for the banner, we can use it to buy chapter stickers, and if anything else left can be donated to MJ.

We invite vendors out to set up tents. 4ws, CB-10, Napa, whoever else.

We definaly try to get or build a RTI Ramp

I reached out to our club Pres., once I hear back I'll post up details. We used ours for the first time around this time last year and we've used it a good 6 times or so. It was used at PA Jeeps show last year and again this year.

Even if it's in someone's yard it's nice to know that is you do a new lift kit you can do before and after numbers.

A wash party before hand to make all the rigs (except my jeep) SPARKLE!!

Ghost00TJ
04-24-2009, 14:25
not so sure about admission fees and the sort, now you need permits and whatever. Now a $5/rig for a rti ramp prize or too shiney to wheel award LOL

Jacob
04-24-2009, 20:17
Yeah, I am not too sure about taking money or opening up to other 4 bys. But I do think we would get lots of attention to attract other jeepers in the military. I also think we can get a few sponsors to chip in some gift certificates and small things as prizes for stuff like best score on the RTI, worst score on the RTI, cleanest rig, dirtiest rig, rig with the most dents, etc. Just some simple stuff to keep it fun and make relations with local businesses. Maybe we should have an unofficial parade and convoy around to businesses next weekend as a show of force to get them to poney up some stuff. But at this point I am just throwing ideas out.

Newevo
04-24-2009, 21:03
Maybe even a spot on some of the local area radio stations to help promote in the area....if they would be willing to do so. I know there is a local station right outside the gate...again just throwing out ideas.

Fred
04-24-2009, 21:30
Well thing is unless you have some form of income any spending will come out of our pockets. Making it Jeep only is fine but it will cut your attendance by probably 75%. Not charging is fine too but again we need to keep it $0 cost to us. It can be done. MAybe if we have to pay out something we can charge but only keep our expenses and make the remainder a Donation to a Local Charity.

Just let me know when and where and what I can do to help. I will be happy to go to a few dealerships and get some JK's out there or something. Maybe we can get a dealership to "sponsor" the show and and buy Hot dogs and condimants and stuff.

Fred
04-26-2009, 09:13
Well we have some interest in this lets finalize what we want to do and finalize a date. Then we can appoint "commitee" members to do thier share of the work. Lets make this happen

Fred
04-26-2009, 09:19
Propose some Dates keeping in mind we need enough time to really plan this.

Propose exactly what we want to do. Jeep Show? 4x4 Show? Jeep and Truck Show? Invite Vendors? Invite Dealerships? Invite outside organizations like Ozarks Jeep Thing, Midwest Jeep Thing? Advertise? Beg Steel Borrow for RTI Ramp? Charge any fees? Provide food for sale? Give away food but have donations (hot dogs and buns are cheap and we can hit up the dealerships to provide Hotdogs, buns, condiments, and drinks for allowing them to "advertise" by bringing a jeep out) Maybe if 4ws or someone will donate some offroad stuff or jeep stuff we can hole a raffle

Anyway make some proposals on what you think and lets get this going!

Fred
04-28-2009, 22:50
Bueller...Bueller?

Newevo
04-29-2009, 09:16
Maybe when we do this meet and greet, or we should have a like a "chapter" dinner at a local restuarant and iron out details for this. It seems that would be easier since this is becoming bigger and bigger. Im game for whenever and where ever. Anyone opposed to ruby tuesdays say 6 or 7 on friday the 1st? Again just trying to get the ball rolling, so throwing out days and times...nothing set.

Fred
04-29-2009, 09:43
I can probably do that

Ghost00TJ
04-29-2009, 10:05
yea maybe, Donations if any are the better way to go I think. It stops alot of leagal hassells of a paid admittance event.

I believe as soon as you say Xdollars to come you just lost a bunch of people. curiosity is shot down easy by the dollar.

Fred
04-29-2009, 10:22
OK so no admittance is fine, donation buckets 1-2 of them. When we beat htis to ground I will talk to car dealers if we want that. I think you will see better attendance if it's open to all 4x4's or maybe trucks and jeeps, but just jeeps is cool with me.
Who has ideas for product sponsors for giveaways?
Who has ideas for vendors to set up tents?
Does anyone have a lead on an RTI Ramp?

Ghost00TJ
04-29-2009, 10:24
As you said ----Any 4x4 is better

Fred

04-29-2009, 13:12
so we gonna try to meet at ruby Tuesdays Friday then? if so it works out great for me

Newevo
04-29-2009, 13:17
I think we should and just try to iron everything out at once with as many people as we can get there. In the mean time we need people to try and hit some of the local part stores, radio stations, car dealers, mom and pop places for donation give-a-ways or whatever it is we are going for to put our name out there. Maybe even a spot on the FLW channel or something. Friday could be the first meeting to get things really starting and designate who is coordinating what and then have another one a few weeks out to finalize everything....again not trying to take this over just throwing it out there.

brian613
04-29-2009, 14:00
good luck getting the radio stations around the area to do anything for free. we have been trying to get advertisement for a fund raiser to help build a park with no luck from them

Fred

Yea free won't happen but the Guidon will advertise for us. I can do Fri at Ruby Tuesday, what time?

will the Fred waiver be passed out when we get there or do we need to print off one and bring it with us:rolleyes:

Fred
04-29-2009, 21:28
Print your own! It is your response I do not endorse the Fred Waiver. If our regulars do not show up we can make some plans and throw around some dates and at least get the ball rolling

Jacob
04-30-2009, 08:29
I have class on Friday, can't make the meeting. I am extremely busy up until May 16th so whatever you guys come up with, I will do my best to support. I think we just need to be careful and don't let this event get too large. I know everyone has their own ideas for the event, but I originally brought it up just as a get together in a public setting to draw in more members. Now that is not to say it can't or shouldn't be anything more, but we should keep it simple the first time we do it and grow as we get more experience with the event. Below is my input for the event since I can't be there friday.

- Only Jeeps from MJ in the event.
- No money involved what so ever.
- Get donated items from businesses to give away in a raffle.
- RTI ramp will be fun and a good draw.
- Event is focused around the idea of being a membership drive for MJ, and not for profit.

Yep Jacob sounds good.

No kiss from you Mike

Fred
04-30-2009, 18:16
I'm fine with that too. But not looking for profit I still donations would be a good idea. If nothing else it can pay for food and such not donated, and it can pay back Larry for his purchases, and we can buy excess stickers to give out

Here another idea for the show and shine. If we cant get an RTI ramp then get a junk car to show off our flex. figure one jeep could fit at each corner. and would look bad as hell with our jeeps siting up there.

Fred
05-21-2009, 19:09
Any updates on this? Are we looking at proceeding? I know June was the month?

HAZARDOUSDUTY
05-22-2009, 08:39
I'm for it, I would also suggest the Ramada Inn parking area, alot of people drive by there or we can time it for when the Cave State Cruisers have there show and shine in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I would have to check but I think it's every 3rd Wednesday or Thursday. I've taking my 79 GMC 4x4 up there before for it. Let me know if that is an idea and I can confirm the day and time.

randal
05-27-2009, 17:43
I'll go by Paul's and see Richard tomorrow to ask him about the use of the parking lot. I'll ask for the 13th of June, unless that's a problem. Also, wanting to follow up with the Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for the MJ/FLW chapter. When can we get the most members together??? Do we want to do it at the show and shine?? One more thing, I'm organizing a Poker Run for a cancer victim on 6 June in Belle. Would any of you like to show up there to either participate in the Poker Run or display the jeeps?

Ghost00TJ
05-27-2009, 20:42

We already have permission to use Napa's parking lot if we are still looking for a place to hold it. They just need a date from us.

Jacob
05-28-2009, 06:48
Anyone have a connection at the Chrysler dealership? In these tough times I bet they would move some cars over and give us some space so they might get some people over to look at cars. Just an idea.

Fred
05-28-2009, 14:23
I bought my truck at Lindsay. I can talk to them but I don't know if they'd be willing to move cars around. I plan on stopping in once we have a date and inviting them to bring out a jeep or two

Any word from Flat Nasty this weekend?

Someone want to go talk to CB-10?

I still need to go talk to Lindsay and I guess Mid MO Motors too.

Who is bringing what?

Is anyone going to approach SMORR about the RTI Ramp? I guess I can send an Email.

Fred and I spent most of the day driving around knocking on doors begging for goods. We are on the Pulaski County visitor's center calendar and the lady from The Chamber of Commerce is going to attend for our ribbon cutting ceremony at 1030. Buckhorn Meats and Groceries donated a case of 192 hot dogs and ice for us. Fred and I were able to get about $200 in raffle prizes today from various places. He will post them all up. We have a few more to hit in the morning and we should be more than good on prizes for the raffle. I still need input on the flyer, we are going to be printing and hanging them in the morning as well.

Fred and I nominated Ross's CB to be our PA system for the event so we can make announcements and do the raffle.

OK after a good day of begging we ended up with:
Chamber of Commerce coming at 1030 on the 13th for a ribbon cutting ceremony

Pulaski Visitors Center putting us on their Calender of events, and taking in contact cards to give out plus they want to advertise Flat Nasty and SMORR as well as the WFTW event in Aug

We got 2 Buffet for 2 from Ryans

we got 5 Lunch Buffets from Pizza Hut

2 Free Carwashes at Extreme Clean Carwash from Kwik Kar Lube

3 TShirts from Napa (hoping for more)

and we got CB-10 Electronics to set up a booth

Tonight we are putting together a letter of intent and tomorrow we are going to Orielly's, Big-O Tire, Millers Grill, and Auto Zone to present the letter to thier Corperate. Big-O is talking about sending a set of tires or two mounted to display

tomorrow we are also going to visit Peppers Grill, Aussie Jacks, Papa Johns, Movies 8, Chop Stix, and anywhere else that looks promising to include a few hotels.

Our big win of the day today was getting the hot dogs and ice donated. Tomorrow we are going to try Wal-Mart for buns, condiments, and sodas.

Larry also sent out numerous Emails asking for donations for giveaways and raffles (Larry elaborate for us)

Bottom line Gentlemen we have an event. The two major obsticles left to tackle is buns, condiments, chips, and sodas and of course an RTI ramp. Also we have joined forces with Ozarks Freedom Offroad (an ATV club) and they are going to hit up a few locations for raffle items and whatever else they can supply

RescueJP
06-02-2009, 18:06
If you have a sams club hit that I always hit stores like that for giveaways they are likely to give you a 50dollar gift card. Just a heads up. O and chilli's if you have one of them.

Jacob

Ozark Freedom Offroad (OFO) is not only ATV, but any offroad vehicles. They have a couple of members with rock and dune buggies as well as ATVs. They are a great bunch of people that have some resources to offer as well. I posted a message for Tom (their pres.) on their forum to see if he can get any type of sponsorship from Flat Nasty and maybe a lead on an RTI ramp we can borrow. They are really tight with the owners out at Flat Nasty. If Ron has an RTI ramp, I am sure Tom can secure it for us.

Fred, add Ruby Tuesdays to our hit list. And don't let me forget that we were going to stop by Steve's Service Center to try from some oil changes.

This Guidon business blows my mind. I am not renewing my subscription with them next year. :D

Do you need a bunch of us to make calls until they give in?

I mean shit...don't they realize we will be feeding the masses with crock pot hot dogs????

Jacob
06-02-2009, 19:36
Speaking of crock pots, we don't own one. How many can fit in one pot? How long does it take? How many are we going to need to cook :eek:192:eek: hot dogs?

Fred
06-02-2009, 22:15
We have a pretty big one I'd guess at least 50. When we set up in the morning we can fill the pots turn them on and let them cook.
By 0900 they should be GTG.

I'd say 5-6 Pots would be best.

I talked to the Gym I attend, USA Black Belt Acadamy. They are sponsoring the Xtreme Cage Championships Fight At Area 151 June 20th and the are likely to offer 2 tickets for our raffle and may set up a table to advertise or maybe sell tickets to the fight.

Jacob want to meet around 730 tomorrow?

Introduction

The Military Jeepers Jeep Club was established in December of 2007 and the membership consists of more than 2000 Jeep owners that are serving in or have served in a branch of the United States Military and own a Jeep product. Further the Fort Leonard Wood Chapter of Military Jeepers was founded in 2009. The Leonard Wood Chapter currently has around 30 members.

Purpose

The Fort Leonard Wood Chapter of Military Jeepers is hosting a Show and Shine Jeep show 13 June 2009. The intention of this event is a membership drive for our organization, a chance to get our name out into the community, a chance to advertise for local businesses, and our induction ceremony into the Saint Robert Chamber of Commerce.

Scope of Activities

The Show and Shine Jeep show is scheduled to be held 13 June 2009 in the parking lot of Paul’s Furniture off Missouri Blvd in Saint Robert MO. The event will officially begin at 0900 and will officially terminate 1300. Through out the day raffle tickets will be sold with the intention of holding 3-5 raffles per hour with winners required to be present at time of drawing. At 1030 the Saint Robert Chamber of Commerce will be present for an official “Ribbon Cutting” Ceremony inducting us into the Chamber of Commerce and photos will be taken. Shortly after, we will begin serving hot dogs, sodas, chips, and granola snack bars completely free. Through out the day we will have member’s jeeps on display for fellow jeepers, and prospective future members, to look at for their own enjoyment and ideas for their own jeeps. We will also be holding a 50/50 raffle with ticket sales through out the day and the drawing around 1200.

Dispersion of funds

Any money raised through the 50/50 and product raffles will be pooled together. We will use this in order to re-emberse members who have paid out of their pockets for this event. Any remaining money will be donated to an organization known as Wheelers for the Wounded. Information about this organization can be found at http://www.wheelersforthewounded.com/eventsch.htm (http://www.wheelersforthewounded.com/eventsch.htm)

What are we asking from you?

What we are asking for is pretty simple, we need “sponsorship” in the form of raffle items, food, drinks, or monetary. From auto based businesses we are asking for certificates for free oil change, free tire rotation, free tire balancing, 4 wheel alignment, or anything your business may have to offer. From retail businesses we are asking for auto based products such as car wash kits, floor mats, off road type tow/recovery straps, auxiliary lights, or anything your business may have to offer. For restaurants we are asking for free meal tickets, coupons, or anything your business may have to offer. For grocery retail businesses we are in need of hot dog buns, hot dog condiments, potato chip snack packs, and miscellaneous drinks, enough of each for approximately 200 patrons.

What do we have to offer?

For all patrons who donate in any way they will be recognized at the time of raffle. For businesses who donate food products they will be recognized at the food table and if you have a banner and business cards available we will have them present to hand out at random. Also to all who choose to support us your business will be offered the option to set up a “booth” at the show to put your name out into the community, show off some of your products, and also get a bit of free advertising by showing you are supporting your community, the military, and the public.

Conclusion

This is a first, but annual event. We fully expect over 200 people through out the period if the day plus our current membership will be there in force. This is a great opportunity for us to form a bond with the Saint Robert Community, the Military Community, and the Jeeping Community. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and will continue to support us in future ventures.

I have a hook up on getting 100 of the flyers printed. We are going to need about 5 volunteers to help go out and hang them in various places. Who's in?

This is a list of things I can think of that we need right now. If you have something else to add, please do. We need people to get on these things to help get ready for the event. Lets not wait until the day before. We all need to pull together to make this successful.

OTHER THINGS WE STILL NEED:
- RTI Ramp x 1
- Crock Pots x 5 more
- PA CB for announcements x 1 (we are going to ask CB-10 if he wants to set up display unit to handle this, but if he doesn't we need one. Does anyone have a CB with PA function in their Jeep?)
- Hotdog Buns x 200 (we are asking Walmart, if we don't get them there we will probably have to take up a donation to chip in and buy them.)
- Condiments x 4 each (ketchup, mustard, some relish, maybe kraut. we are asking Walmart, if we don't get them there we will probably have to take up a donation to chip in and buy them.)
- Volunteers to hang flyers x 5
- Contact the Dad's Shaved Ice stand and see if he wants to come out to make some money.
- Roll of tickets for the raffle
- Buckets for raffle tickets and money x 5
- Some way to handle cash for the 50/50 drawing and from donations.

Ghost00TJ
06-03-2009, 10:01
we have a crock pot. I'll bring the camper also

50/50 raffle should be seperate from the other tickets and a different kind of ticket. I think wal-mart sells ticket rolls

I can hang flyers starting tomorrow.
I'll print a couple flyers in b&w and hang at Truman Ed center when I go to class tonight. and at Carls barber & moonstar tomorrow.

I have a couple buckets but no lids (foil lids?) I think Lowes has contracter buckets for a few bucks....

Just for your information there is the 4th Annual USO Military Support
Motorcycle Ride going on that day. If it is decent weather this will
draw 200-300 bikes, possibly more. So there will be a LOT of military &
civilians headed toward Lebanon about the time you are starting. I have
a flyer down here if you want one.

This may work for or against us

OTHER THINGS WE STILL NEED:
- RTI Ramp x 1 (We have a couple leads on this but nothing in stone yet)
- Crock Pots x 5 more (everyone that said they have one bring one and we should be good)

- Hotdog Buns x 200 (Walmart is 90% on this)
- Condiments x 4 each (Walmart is 90% on this)
- Volunteers to hang flyers x 5 (123 not it)
- Contact the Dad's Shaved Ice stand and see if he wants to come out to make some money.
- Roll of tickets for the raffle
- Buckets for raffle tickets and money x 5
- Some way to handle cash for the 50/50 drawing and from donations.

We also got some very large name off road retailers working on donations (Thanks Larry) and a bunch of local to Saint Robert food Coupons, a couple of car washes, some oil changes (thanks Jacob and Fred) We are still waiting on answers from AutoZone, ORielly's, and Big O' Tires.

From here on out it is all targets of oppertunity. Each of us need to "arm" ourselves with a flier and the letter I made up and hit local buisnesses whenever possible. Anyplace from McD's (we did not try yet) to Hair and Nail Salons (think about the ladies). We don't need financial contributions BUT if thats what someone wants to give take it and we can use it to purchase whatever is not donated

I talked to the Pres. of Mid Rivers Jeep Thing. They own the RTI Ramp that Mid West Jeep Thing is using this weekend. He told me he will pass through the BOD but as long as the club doesn't have prior engagements for it that day we can use it. I told him we could pick it up or they are invited to attend and one can bring it with them. I am going to request that they give us a banner of some sort to hang on it saying Ramp donated by: thier Banner. Also I figure if it needs any kind of maintanence like paint we can hook it up

Fred
06-03-2009, 20:42
Gentlemen thanks to an unnamed donor we have a budget of about $120 to work with. We will only use this if needed, because I think we got most everything we need donated. I know all "proceeds" from the event are going to WFTW but I won't feel right unless we reimberse this donation when its all done.

We need to organize our list a little more and I will go through the list and get an accutarate whis coming and displaying list, whos bringing what list. We will be in need of coolers, crock pots I think we are good, at least 5 1 gallon sized buckets, TENTS like screen tents or just over hang canapies.
Larry if you can cut a crap load of contact cards we can have them to give out to prospective members.
I may need a detail to go pick up the RTI Ramp next week, I will know shortly. We need to learn how to "score useing an RTI Ramp and also we should do an RTI Waiver as well as Fred waiver.

This is an ongoing list of who is coming (obviously bringing thier jeeps) and what they are bringing for the show.
Ice we got donated we just need to bring coolers morning of the 13th when we pick up hotdogs.
tickets for the raffle and 50/50 I will buy with the money from the donation. Walmart has rolls not very expensive. Also I will wait a little longer but if we cannot find money/ticket buckets I will buy something. For buckets we need one for raffle tickets, one for raffle money, one for 50/50 tickets, one for 50/50 money, and one for donations next to the food.

We also will need some poster paper which If noone has I will buy some. We need to do a list that (poster) thats thanks to our sponsors and list them.

We also will want to do a print out poster size (or as big as possible) giving a brief explanation of what MJ and the Ft Wood Chapter is, and same for WFTW.

Also if every member "showing" thier jeep would get a list of thier jeeps specs we can have one person with neat writing make a poster for each rig. For example we can put Owner: Lift: Tires/Size: Engine Mods: Extras:Places Wheeled: and on the bottom maybe a couple action shots of the rig.

We NEED Tentage, shade canapies, TABLES, and Chairs.

I talked to Larry. Other than our jeeps on display 4ws from Springfield will have someone attending and possible setting something up and Jeff from CB-10 is coming and setting something up

Jacob did you get the fliers done? Also have you heard from Tom and OFO?

Jacob
06-05-2009, 10:45
No, I didn't get them. There have been obstacles to getting them printed if you know what I mean. We may have to take our funding and get them printed. Maybe who ever has the funding could have about 50 of them printed and get some of the other attendees to go out and hang them this weekend. I would, but we will be in Branson Friday through Sunday.

I am sure I missed Tom's call with my phone problem. I got my replacement phone last night and will give Tom a call sometime today since they are going out to Flat Nasty this weekend.

Alright I will go and price getting fliers printed this weekend. Shouldn't be a crap ton but we will see.

Also we need to call Walmart and find out whats up with them, she said if we didn't hear from her by today to call.

OK So shopping list
Raffle Tickets
Fliers

Anyone able to get 5-6 1 gallon buckets?
How many have shade covers?

Well I got the jeep here at my house and washed it up as much as possible. I am going to paint everything black black again and touch up everything red. I may even get crazy and WAX IT!! Then Day of I will bring it to Chubby's and get the delux wash and wax!! Woohoo after all that it will still be all show and NO SHINE.

Brown, no need to wash if you don't want to but it is a show and shine and membership drive.....no competitions at all just everything for fun for folks to look at although we will (SHOULD) have an RTI Ramp and we can make a certificate for everyone who ramps.
It can be a basic certificate that says on this date My jeep scored XXX on the RTI Ramp donated by TwoRiversJeepThing.com at the First Annuel Fort Leonard Wood Military Jeepers Show and Shine Event

Hi Larry, my name is Drew_______. I write the "Drivelines" news column for Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine. We received your email regarding your show later this month. We won't be able to help you with sponsorship of your event, but we'd be glad to give you some post-event publicity in the magazine. Maybe that'll help get you some new members.

If you can send me a short write-up of what happened, how many Jeeps were there, who won the raffle prizes, who donated the raffle prizes, etc., I'll put as much of that as I can into a news story for an upcoming issue. Also please have someone in your club take some high-resolution photos of the show (using a digital camera that's 5 megapixels or higher at the highest resolution setting). If you'll email those to me with the show writeup, we'll get it in the magazine.

Thanks, and good luck with your show!
Drew

I was thinking, someone could stop by the post office and pick up 5 or 6 of the free square priority mail boxes for us to use for money and tickets. Tape them together, cut some slits in the tops and they will be good to go. If we don't want the mail logos on them, paint them or cover them with a brown paper bag.

We may have an issue with the RTI Ramp. They gave me the go ahead that we can use it BUT they are asking for a $500 deposit. Fully refundable as long as the Rmap is returned in 100% condition it was received. I sent them an email explaining we are but crack poor and cannot really do that and basicly begged them to let us use it anyway but we'll see

Lets start a list of places to put the flyer so we can coordinate our efforts. Add your ideas of locations, then everyone that wants to help can let the rest of us know where they have been placed already. We really should have had these up last week, so we have to get moving. When a flyer has been placed at a location, copy and repost this list with the location in green so we know it is a go.

Mavak I will put them in my truck and when I see you I will drop a few with you, Jacob we need to link up anyway so I will hand off whatever you want.

I will also pick up some Contact paper to Laminate out posters.

Jacob will check on Wal Mart today or tomorrow.

Fliers are ongoing till Fri, Brown can we link up so I can give you a handful (and what is you name?)

I figure we can set up starting around 0730-0800 Sat Morning. Get the genny going, get dogs cooking, set up ramp.

POSSIBLE RISKS

This is not a fully inclusive list. It needs to be understood when using an RTI ramp unforeseen problems can occur.
travel to far up ramp can result in vehicle rollover
when pushing suspension to extremes vehicle damage can occur
“flexing” a vehicle to extremes can cause sheet metal damage
not watching the “spotter” may cause you to drive off the ramp and damage your vehicle, the ramp, or injure others
Most important use of the RTI Ramp has a HIGH RISK of causing you to become addicted to off-roading and may cause you to become what is commonly known as a Jeep Freak!!!!

Hell yeah, you guys are kicking ass. I am calling the lady at Walmart tomorrow and will hit up Big O's on the way out of town with my wife. I will stop by AutoZone today and see if they have our stuff together.

Fred gave me way too many flyers. I can meet you on post later at about 2000, or you can come by my house and pick them up. I live about 1/4 mile behind Arby's. I can't go anywhere right now because I am without Jeep and am detailing the wife's truck.

Call me if you want to come by, I can give you directions.

We are going out of town tomorrow for the night. If I don't get up with you, I will drop some off at Larry's on our way out of town so at least someone will have them so you and anyone else can get them.

Ghost,
I'm going to try to make this event. I won't have my jeep, as I don't have a tow rig big enough to drag my jeep up those hills on 63.
Is there anything I can do to help?

I'm a photographer and will have camera on hand, and I can run a pretty mean BBQ grill.

Well "Drivelines" news column for Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine needs a minimum 5mb high resolution photos of the event for their magazine.

I am assuming you mean 5mp instead of 5mb. My camera is 10.2mp and I am sure they will be able to use anything I shoot. I'll get with you, and we can set up some way for me to transfer images to you. I have lots of Compact Flash, (CF) cards and if you have a way to read them on your computer. I'll just give the card to you and you can mail it back to me when you're done. Or if you have a laptop, bring it and I will bring my mobile card reader and you can take them home with you.

we have a laptop, it does have a sd card reader have to check for cf, but i dont think it does. I would just bring your mobile reader and we can xfer to the laptop probably make a CD and send to them if we have a lot of pics and put the write up on a word doc with them.
