Et All,
If you desire to roll in convoy to the event departing NOVA on Friday morning then sign up here. I will be posting link-up and departure time in the near future once I do the route planning, establish a timeline etc.
If you are driving your rig and get less than 10-11 mpg, then let me know so I can properly figure out the fuel stops, etc.
If you do not have a CB or FMRS "Talk About" then I can provide you one with fresh batteries to use but you are required to supply additional batteries.
If you plan to camp, please bring a bundle of wood for the fire pit. I am unsure if any wood is available there so be a Boy Scout and be prepared.

Link-up and departure time:
The link-up location is the Kingstown BP Gas Station at 6700 S Van Dorn St, Alexandria, VA 22315
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=%22BP+6700+S+Van+Dorn+St%22&sll=38.773143,-77.132962&sspn=73.176381,158.203125&ie=UTF8&ll=63.352129,-69.257812&spn=46.205451,158.203125&z=3 this will allow for fuel, food, coffee and a bathroom before we start.
Departure time: 24 1130 APR 09 (at 1133 GPS Time we depart, so plan accordingly and arrive prior to departure time)

Google Earth calculated the driving time at 3 hours. Giving fuel and bathroom stops the real planning time will be more like 4 hours. This will get us up there and allow us to set up camp while it is still light.

Cheers!

Fifth,
Do we have a cb channel planned to operate off for the convoy?
Also, do the directions given go to the camp ground or the comfort inn?

Directions are to the park and camping. To get to the Comfort Inn get off at Exit 100. The Comfort Inn is located behind the McDonalds.

The directions are to the Camp Site.........Finding the Hotels should not be to difficult; click on the Google Maps/Imagery I have linked and type in your hotels address.....presto!

As far as the Convoy Commo Plan: this will be provided prior to departure. I am sure it will be CB Channel 4......and for those without a CB, I have a 4 Talk Abouts but so far no one as identified themselves as needing it.

I will put it here and in the first post....If you plan to camp, please bring a bundle of wood for the fire pit. I am unsure if any wood is available there so be a Boy Scout and be prepared.

I will be on alternate commo. Sold my Tuffy overhead for the CB when I thought the front cage was going in and then it never happened. Havent had time to fab any kind of mount either....

I have my own FRS radio's so Ill bring em. Will be bringing wood as well.

He is one of the Soldiers from my unit. He and another Soldier in a second Jeep are both meeting us at the linkup point and convoying.

Aka_sparky_ak47 drives a black TJ Rubicon and 'CrappyJeep' drives a red LJ on 31's.
