Didn't know what to call this thread lol.
So just curious do any of you guys ever get together on weeknights or weekends to work on jeeps? Awesome to share info on builds and what not you are doing or if someone is a more skilled mechanic than others might help everyone out to just hang out talk jeep and work on someones jeep.

Like I have an 89 YJ that is manual steering. I have been doing alot of research on how to turn it into power steering and I am going to tackle this soon. Just curious if anyone has done this yet and if they might want to help a fellow jeeper out with their knowledge?

I am always tinkering with mine doing one thing or another. Do other jeepers work on theirs as much as I do? Do you guys need a hand? I am just wanting to learn more and don't mind helping guys out doing projects as it just helps me when I want to do things to mine.

I know if something needs to be done, people usually post up and see if anyone is available to help out. I am pretty sure the Colorado Springs folks get together quite often and I remember reading something about a two day meet and greet / wheeling thing which I think is done in the springs area.

I want to do the Durango steering box upgrade my self, but I have not found a good candidate at the pullapart...

The Club I belong too calls them "Tech Days". If you need work done on your rig, call for a tech day, when, where, and what time. You supply the place, food and beer and like the Field of Dreams, "they will come". I had my lift put in without touching a wrench. Try it, it works.

I'm in Fountain and can probably help. If you've got all the parts together.

I like the Tech Day idea...

I do too. I wonder if it would be too much for one weekend? Coffee & Wheel one day, wrench, and then dinner on the next? What does everyone think? I could try to get with the craft shop on post to see if we could get some kind of discount / free bay on those days for MJ'ers. The only down side to that would be the lack of beer while wrenching on post. I would volunteer my garage, but right now it is full of broken furniture. Peoples houses would be another way to get er done.

I was thinking the same thing about the auto hobby shop on Carson. Even if they don't donate the stall, having all the tools and support you'd ever need could come in handy. Usually don't drink beer while wrenching since I like to road test the work. Beer and pizza after!

My garage is full of motorcycles and I'll soon have my jeep torn down in it for a while.

Nice to meet you last night TBrock. As you can see we do get together from time to time to wrench on each others jeeps. I am hoping to increase the number of guys that get together to wrench on jeeps.
I am doing a power steering mod to mine on Sunday most likely if we dont go wheeling.
I am helping out another member soon most likely fabricate a winch plate and install his new winch as well.

Yep, I should be in the garage right now dropping the transmission, LOL. I at leeast got it cleaned up so the jeep fit and the bench is clean enough to disassemble the box!

Good to meet you to!
