For all of you inclined, I am planning the next trip to Langenaltheim Offroad Park:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.offroadpark-langenaltheim.de/&ei=dYHUSZ7lF5uMsAbN4r2bDw&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlangenaltheim%2Boffroad%26hl%3Den (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.offroadpark-langenaltheim.de/&ei=dYHUSZ7lF5uMsAbN4r2bDw&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlangenaltheim%2Boffroad%26hl%3Den) in May. The plan is to leave Heidelberg at 1000hrs on Friday 22May09 and arrive at Langenaltheim around 1230hrs. We can all meet at the Burger King parking lot on Patrick Henry Village in Heidelberg at 0930hrs catch a bite to eat, introduce ourselves, catch the stragglers and roll out at 1000hrs. I am going to camp the night of the 22nd and 23rd and head back home sometime on the 24th. Two days of wheeling will probably result in some major Jeep carnage, therefore I am taking any and all ideas as to some other events that we can add to the agenda. So far I have horseshoes, dizzybat, maybe some volleyball at the nice campground, swimming at the nice campground, and I will be bringing my rock climbing gear. For those of you in other parts of Germany or Europe for that matter we can meet at the Offroad Park. The GPS address is as follows, yes it works I can vouch for that:

OFFROAD Langenaltheim Park
Lower Haardt 4
D91799 Langenaltheim

Prices are as follows:

Free Drive: Euro 22 per vehicle per day

Free Drive ½ Day: Euro 15 per vehicle per day

Weekend With Camping (2Days): Euro 40 per Vehicle

Groups of 5: Euro 95 not sure if camping is included, more to follow on that.

Groups of 10: Euro 185 and same as above on camping.

Of course as I posted in another thread there is a campingplatz only 5KM from here. The place looks really nice and I think we could probably talk them into some sort of group discount if we can get a good sized group to attend. If all else fails we can always camp at Langenaltheim. Here is a link for the nice campingplatz:

http://74.125.43.132/translate_c?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.aktivmuehle.de/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlangenaltheim%2Boffroad%26hl%3Den&usg=ALkJrhiwQHkcEwQCr3JsJlzbFP-hyIBpwA (http://74.125.43.132/translate_c?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.aktivmuehle.de/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dlangenaltheim%2Boffroad%26hl%3Den&usg=ALkJrhiwQHkcEwQCr3JsJlzbFP-hyIBpwA)

What to bring:

Camping gear: Tent/camper, sleeping mat, sleeping bags, camp stove, cooking and eating utensils, cooler, frothy adult beverages, flashlights, first aid kit, Food, BROTCHEN, fold out chairs, etc. If you need some good pots and pans for a dedicated camping set I highly recommend going to the recycling center on PHV in Heidelberg, that is where I got mine and the price is right FREE.

Wheeling: SPARE Tire(s), this place is hard on tires just ask CHUCKNES, tow strap camera, and any spare parts you usually carry, ADAC info if all else fails, Tools, something to change tires with, compressor for airing up ( I may have my own by then) , tire plug kit, fore extinguisher, etc.

This place will probably be a mudhole from hell by the time May rolls around so be prepared.

Here is a link to a google map view of the place, it is just east of the town of Langenaltheim:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=langenaltheim+germany&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=33.02306,56.25&ie=UTF8&ll=48.891781,10.964055&spn=0.013374,0.027466&t=h&z=15 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=langenaltheim+germany&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=33.02306,56.25&ie=UTF8&ll=48.891781,10.964055&spn=0.013374,0.027466&t=h&z=15)

I am really pumped for this trip, it will be over a USAREUR training holiday so hopefully yall can put your passes in now, mine is in already. If you have any questions please fell free to ask. Because I would like a good turn out on this one and it is 50 days away from the post date of this thread I will ask that you please email me well in advance with a yes, no, or maybe and also any information concerning how many days you plan on attending. Don’t forget to add any sort of fun event we could do while not wheeling or wrenching on someones rig. I want to let the offroad park know how many people to expect as well as the campgrounds.

My POC info is as follows: paintballermadman@yahoo.com (paintballermadman@yahoo.com)
Cell: 01622729736
Home: 062217592780

I know we have been bouncing around the idea of a Meet and Greet for a while and nothing has really come full circle, let’s make it happen.

Tell all your friends and family and maybe even some buddies that don’t have Jeeps.

To all of you interested in participating, thanks in advance. I hope I didn’t forget anything but I am sure I did.

~Eric~

If anyone needs something for camping or cooking let me know we can compile a list and see if others can cover down.

Gladenbach, Germany, May 22 thru 24.

This is an annual event open to everybody. It involves camping, wheeling, visiting in the evenings around large fires, etc.

Here are the directions:

Zunächst die Facts:
Location: 35075 Gladenbach

Standard GPS Koordinaten (WGS84) °Grad 'Minuten ''Sekunden oder Navigationsgeräte mit Koordinateneingabe:
N 50° 46' 27''

I'm waiting on prices for camping, wheeling, etc. I'm also trying to get a website with pictures but, you know... Let me know if your interested or just meet us up there - Spangdahlem folks will be there.

Dude, after some googling I was only able to come up with a little information on this place. It looks cool and crowded. In 06 they set a world record by having a convoy of 326 jeeps on their simulated Rubicon trail. They also had helicopter rides for 30 euro. If it wasn't for the huge amount of vehicles attending this thing I would consider attending. I couldn't find it on google earth but the town is only 1 1/2 hours from Heidelberg. Maybe I am still interested, I don't know. The only person that it is really far for is AJ in Garmisch, 5 1/2 hours!!!! Get some more info if you can, maybe everyone would be interested in adjusting fire, if not we can stick with the original game plan. Either way I just wanna wheel.

I just spoke to a guy that says this is one of Germany's biggest offroad gigs of the year. 326 Jeeps means a shit load of people and every night will be bonfires and BBQs. I for one like to wheel but being around nearly one thousand offroaders is a blast by itself, not to mention European offroaders - some of the most unique individuals on the planet (especially the French)

I'll be there. It's my last chance to do something before I seperate in June and go back to The America.

I understand how a long drive would prevent someone from going, it just took me 11+ hours to drive back from fwdfwd.com in Normandy, France! If you all would prefer this, I'll take some photos and let you know how it went. This way, when next year rolls around, you will have more information to base your decision on. Savvy?

I think it sounds like an offroad stau. Waiting in line to offroad, crowded as hell, and noisy at all hours of the night. I would be a little more excited about it if my 2 year old son wasn't going along. I am gonna stick to my gameplan on this one. The place seems pretty flat.

Well said. I'm a single parent and I have a seven year old son, which is a lot different than a two year old but I have things to consider not to far off from your own. I respect your opinion, but allow me to add another reason why I would go if I were in your shoes, and this is the most important reason.

Networking.

The only way to legally wheel in Germany is to "pay-and-play," by knowing somebody that has land, or if you had your own land. Right now, I'm willing to bet that you fall into just one of these catagories, which isn't bad, but there is a whole lot of opportunities out there to really do some bitchen wheeling.

This event in Gladenbach is a prime opportunity to get your name out there, meet good people, and set up further events, or M&G if you will, through your new contacts.

You wouldnt' believe how much germans love to wheel and they are all pretty cool people to boot. This goes the same for other neighboring countries as well, especially the Italians!

Enough with the soap box. I'm convinced that I wouldn't have had nearly the fun I did have if I had never gone on any of my adventures here in Europe and met such awesome people.

Just like our milk cartons say:

Reevaluate
Reconsider
Road trip to Gladenbach :D

LMFAO, how bout this. Lets make a poll in another thread about which place to go to. Whichever one gets the most votes takes the cake. The poll should only be open to people that were planning to go wheeling with us on memorial day weekend. How does that sound.

Langenaltheim is on Brother, I don't wanna change plans. We started planning 50 days in advance and everyone already had their mind set on Langenaltheim. Tell HH6 to pack her ruck and standby for order of march. By the way, anyone have any good ideas for crap to do while we aren't wheeling.I am going to try to get some horse shoe stuff from the MWR. AJstutz69, how old is the baby? My son is 2 years old and Sandman's daughter is like 6 months. Glad to see some other kids and wives will be joining in on the fun. I am not sure how much wheeling my son is going to do this time but we'll see. Last trip to France he was a tired little man and fell asleep while driving around. He was having a blast when we first got ther and the he woke up while being snatched out of a mud hole and it kind of scared him. For the next week all he would say was " Jeep skuck mud scared" it was kind of funny but it made me feel like shit. I have been getting him pumped up "retrain" by means of Jeep videos on youtube. I think he is ready to rock. I guess we will see what happens.

Bigskyxj

I guess now would be the time to find out who is or isn't camping. If you are camping and want to stay at the nicer campground let me know now so that I can inform the place of how many people will be camping. On their website it says if more than 6 PPL are attending they need to know ahead of time.

If you are just planning on staying at Langenaltheims camp are let me know as well so that we can let them know too.

Thanks in advance and thanks to those of you who stepped up to the plate and decided to get your junk dirty.

Betreff: We are coming May 22, 23, 24 to wheel

Klaus,
As discussed on the phone a group of Jeepers will be coming to Langenaltheim to do some driving for the 22, 23, 24 of May. As of righ t now I have a definitive list of 7 Jeeps. We are planning to arrive around 1200hrs on the 22nd meet everybody in our group and set up campsites at Die Aktiv Muhle campingplatz. After everyone is setup we would like to come over for a while and drive. The 23rd of may we will probably drive for a majority of the day and the 24th we will probably start packing up our campsite but maybe do some driving before whe leave.

There may be some more people in our group as this trip is still almost a month away. On April 5th some of my friends came there and said they had already spoke with you about this but I just to make sure that you know we will be coming and how many people will be coming. I will update you on the number of vehicles that will be coming if more people decide to come. Thanks in advance
~Eric

Ok heres the deal, I am pretty sure that by the time we all get there on Friday wheeling is going to be a pipe dream due to camp set up, bullshitting, shaking hands, eating lunch and so on. I am going to make a small itenarary change and suggest that we don't plan to wheel Friday ( it costs money) for only a couple hours. So with that said Lets all meet at the campground. The address is as follows.

Familie Hefele
Esslinger Str. 3
D- 09145 Solnhofen

Phone number there is - 09145-235

My plan is to be at the campground in the 1200-1300hrs time frame with anybody that wants to leave from the PHV Burger King Friday morning.

If you get lost, confused, sick, lazy, or stupid give me a call and we will see what we can do for you.

I am going to put up another thread in the international forum so we can all post up our cell phone numbers, I will then make an alert roster and post is on here in a printable PDF format. I want to make sure we can all reach eachother in the event someone doesn't show or incase someone runs into problems on thei way home.
Gotta watch eachothers 6.

Bags are packed and standing by in my storage room time now. Getting food tonight, gassing up thursday and rolling Friday.

Who has a portable air compressor?

My neighbor is bringing his volleyball net/badmitton stuff so bring your game face. I am going to MWR today to enquire about horse shoes. If you have a baseball mit bring it.

Dudes, I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to come.

Oh yeah and the wood situation, I think if we all buy a bundle from the campground there should be enough wood for a nice fire (5 euro per bundle). Remember they have showers there if you need one and bring some shorts because swimming is allowed and according to the weather we might be swimming. They are calling for rain on Friday, so bing wet weather gear. Here is the weather forecast as of now:

http://weather.yahoo.com/Langenaltheim-Germany/GMXX1520/forecast.html

hopefully it will change but either way it is supposed to be in the high 70's.

I apparently need to learn to get my priorities together. Jeep first all else second.

Man what a fun ass weekend, I will create a photobucket account tonight for everyone to consolidate pics onto and we can start reliving the trip. After I make the account I will PM everyone that attended the Login info.

Here are just a few of the things I can't forget.

1. 0300hrs- F'ing JK, Fin'g P***y ass JK, F'ng CJ F'ing TJ. Gotta love that.

2. Introducing the German Neighbors to smores and watching my son roast the same marshmallow for 30 minutes at a time.

3. The Lebaron.

4. The rock garden at Langenaltheim, that was the most fun part of the day for me. Next time we go I want to hit a few more lines through the rocks.

5. The chicken coop that smelled like bigfoot's dick.

6. The fact that 22 people actually camped and a few more showed up to wheel.

7. Making cake in an orange peel, it was actually kind of good.

8. Watching AJ's mud hole swallo 44 inch tires like it was nobody's business.

All in all this trip was the shit and I can't wait to do it all again. I wish I was still there. I hope everyone made it home without alot of problems, I hit some stau coming back and started getting a little hot. I had loaned Kris my e-fan relay so I was stuck running the heater in stau to prevent the heep from overheating.

Why do I not remember this?

Probably because you were drinking Jim Beam that had the oil slick on top of it from using my transmission funnel. I assure you it was the longest run on sentence I have ever heard. I think James set a world record for The longest sentence with the most F bombs and Jeep acronyms ever.

Do you remember max raping spocks face for like an hour?

Dude, James that shit was funny man. I was laying in my tent laughing my ass off. At first I was trying to make sense of it all and then by about the 10 minute mark that sentence became totally incomprehensible or something. I want your leaf springs damnit. I need a YJ to go with my XJ. I love leaf springs and square headlights. Never will I go to round headlights. Infact I think I am going to put square headlights on my BMW hooptie.

Funny you should say that, when i was looking at the YJ last week I was mentally replacing the grill with a TJ grill to get rid of the squares

this is only true in jail!

thst being said, spock was tied to a chair, so maybe he is just a little less gay!

Funny how he was tied to your chair, and then how you happen to know the jailhouse rules. I am under the impression that you a jobber of the blow my friend.
