Hey folks, I wanted to put out a couple of feelers for the Mtn. area, I PCS out there within the next two weeks. I'm looking forward to wheelin' around White Sands and all the red rock in NM, is there a local group around Cannon/Kirtland or should I look into the Coloraado Springs Group?

I know there's a few members based out of Clovis. The Springs might be too far to drive, but feel free to post up with us.

I'm in Clovis. There are some guys in the 3rd who are into quads, bikes and such.
This area is pretty flat, you gotta head south, west, or north. Most real offroading is up near albuquerque or farmington, there is a group, http://www.nmvjc.org/
If I lived closer I'd be out there everyday, but 3 hrs one way is a haul. In this area it's mostly dirt roads/backroads, if you head down to haystack toward roswell there is an area I heard people drive offroad, beyond that are some dunes, and the rocky areas around las cruces.
If you see me around if nothing else we can talk jeeps, LOL.

The autohobby shop on base is pretty decent and the guys working there are cool.

Got a buddy that grew up in Roswell, then after the Army he moved back to that area and became a local cop. I visited Roswell back around 98 and got to shoot my first Prarie Dog out the window of a pickup truck.

Actually we were shooting them off this ridge and then as we were heading back, one popped his head out of a hole about 2 feet from the passenger side door. Needless to say it was hard to miss. Good times.

OK, I have seen about 10 Jeeps over the last 5 days on base, where are you all???
