Okay this will be a long thread with a bunch of pictures. I have about two years to catch up on.
Here is what my Jeep looked like in Sept 2002 when I bought it. It was a 1997 TJ SE w/33X14 Boggers & a ProComp 4" suspension lift. It had 55,000 miles on it and had NEVER been off-road.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/web%20page/1997TJnew.jpg
Seeing if I could break that D35 rear axle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/web%20page/firsttrip18.jpg
This is what it looked like in Sept 03 before I was deployed to Iraq.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/web%20page/pscrocker3.jpg

I had come home on leave in Sept 04 and got to go wheeling ONE day while I was home.!! Long story.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/IMG00157.jpg
Then I went back to Iraq and on 19 Oct 2004 I was shot!!! It is the day that changed my life.
In Dec 04 I could pull myself into my Jeep and kind of drive it. The first thing I did was go buy some 35X13.50 Toyo M/T's. It was real funny watching me pull myself into the Jeep with my leg brace on.
I was able to start walking again in May 05 and one of the first things I did was install a TeraFlex long arm kit.

Okay on with the story.
In January 06 I took my Jeep down to a buddies shop in Vancouver. We installed some PSC tube fenders & trail cage. Also did a few other little things like fuel tank skid, tranny/t-case skid & hood hoop.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00398.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00401.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00411.jpg

In March 06 I got an insurance payment from the military. I went a little stupid crazy with my build. If you ask me now I wish I had done things differently. But hindsight is 20/20.
So I took the Jeep to a shop down in Grants Pass, OR. to have them install a Magnum V-8 into the Jeep. The shop is Backwoods Off-Road and he has been doing these swaps for a while.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/wildman1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/Accwiring2.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/Finalassy2.jpg
Now I had planned/hoped to have the Jeep all fixed and running ready to go to Moab in May. Ya RIGHT!!! I didn't even pick the Jeep up until the weekend I was suppose to be leaving for Moab.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00547.jpg
While the Jeep was down in Oregon I was building a front axle for it. I took a mid-70's F150 HP44 axle and cut it down to Waggy width.

The inner knuckles really were not hard to get back on. Getting them off was harder.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00492.jpg
Then I used a Rubicon Express bracket kit for all the TJ mounts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00501.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00507.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00509.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00516.jpg
Front axle got an ARB locker, 5.13 gears and a fresh paint job.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00531.jpg
I had also ordered a air bag system that replaces the coil spring. It is made by Off-Road Only and is called the AiRock system.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00465.jpg

Once I got the Jeep back to my garage I started taking it apart so I could install all the new parts I had bought.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00555.jpg
Put it up on jack stands and started ripping out what ever we were not going to use. Both axles were being replaced, a whole new suspension system was also getting installed. I had also replaced my NP231 with a STaK's 3 speed t-case. Ever wonder why they call it a monster box??
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00558.jpg
So I had a Dodge Durango 5.2L V-8 and it's 4 speed auto tranny.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00559.jpg
Had some wheeling buddies form CWU who came over to help.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00568.jpg
The brackets for the new Long Arm suspension weleded in place.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00591.jpg
Then the mounts for the front & rear lower control arms could be bolted on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00597.jpg
The Nth Degree Tummy Tucker installed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00600.jpg
Not a lot of clearance here but I fixed it later. Here is how much it was clocked to start with.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00604.jpg
I went back and reclocked it later.
Getting the bracket for the rear axle installed and modified to fit. Nothing for this whole build was bolt on. But then it wouldn't be fun if it was.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00618.jpg
First trial fit of the front axle. And as you can see I had replaced the Tera long arm with a Nth Degree long arm kit.

Now with the AiRock system I needed a on-board air system that would work and work WELL. I installed a York compressor using a mounting kit from Brad Kilby. He is a long time internet friend and I knew he had installed one on his TJ when he did the V-8 swap. It is not a kit he sells on his web site.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00584.jpg
Also in that picture is my 175Amp Primier Power alt.
The rear axle is a Tera CRD60 with CroMo shafts, Explorer brakes, ARB & 5.13 gears. I have a few stories about it too but that is for later.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00632.jpg
Because of the crawl ratio I felt the need for Better brakes. So I installed a VanCo HydroBoost kit.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00685.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00686.jpg
You can also see some of the plumbing for the on-board air system. And due to the size of the STaK case I had to move the air tank I had back some.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00687.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00696.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00701.jpg
Here you can see the sensors mounted that tell the AiRock kit what height the suspension is at.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00698.jpg
This is the distorbution block/computer that controls when and where the air goes.

Now you want to talk about FUN!! Try fixin all this steering and track bar and stuff on a TJ, then add in the fact that you have air bags that can't be too close to any moving parts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00706.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00707.jpg
The steering is on it's third revision now.
The rear lower control arms just clear my air tank.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00700.jpg

I got a back then just released outboard shock kit from Poly Performance. The real scary part was having to notch the frame.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00721.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00724.jpg
The upper shock brackets.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00724.jpg
Cut and ready to be installed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00726.jpg
Test fit.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00727.jpg
Welded into palce.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00730.jpg

Lower Mounts on the axle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00788.jpg
I have a Mean Green dual battery tray. I needed a place to mount the relay. So I welded a tab on the upper battery tray.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00740.jpg
The dual batteries mounted and some of the wiring hooked back up.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00743.jpg
The clearance between the lower battery posts and the fender, I felt it was a little TOO close so I made a rubber pad to sit betweent he two.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00741.jpg
More pic's of the dual battery kit. It is a NW Power Products system and is pretty much the same as any of the others out there.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00746.jpg
So it was finally getting closer to sitting on it's own 4 wheels at this point. I was seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00770.jpg
I started painting the cage at this time. My theme for the Jeep is this, if it is stock I have left it white and if I added it on it is black. Kind of the MadCow look.

So next was my dash. Now I have a Tuffy overhead console that my stereo & CB are mounted in. So the dash was being reworked to hold some gauges & switches.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00782.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00791.jpg
I tried some sheet metal first but it wasn't strong enough and would flex. So next I used plexi glass.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00798.jpg
Also I installed MasterCraft seats in the front.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00789.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00800.jpg
This was the original STaK shift. Ok but a total pain to adjust.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00765.jpg
I got JE Reel drivesahfts made with 1350 joints. Good God those things are not cheap!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00814.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00815.jpg

At this point I was running Toyo Open Country M/T's 35X13.50X15 tires on 8X15 Allied beadlocks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00749.jpg
I've just sold them and am getting new tires and wheels this spring.
I drove the Jeep in to Cle Elum and got a exhaust installed.

The new FlowMaster muffler that you can pound with a hammer.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00835.jpg
And the new cat so I am still smog legal plus so the computer will work like it should.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00836.jpg
And the tail pipe that isn't there anymore.

Next was a Skid Row tranny & engine skid. Of course they don't make one for a V-8 TJ so I had to fab my brackets and make it work.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00886.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00890.jpg
Then I added a M.O.R.E. steering brace.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00891.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00892.jpg

I also got my rear tire carrier installed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00254.jpg
And of course I now needed LED tail lights. So I had to wire everything up for that.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00257.jpg
And boy are they brite!!!

I was never real happy with the way I had mounted the pressure/filter regulators for the AiRock system and the ARB's. The AiRock takes 110-115 PSI and the ARB's take90 PSI. So I made a new bracket for them.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00272.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00277.jpg
And mounted them up.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00279.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00280.jpg
I had also upgraded the steering to a PSC steering and had to mount the remote resivoir some where.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00274.jpg
Now I am back to working on the dash and mounting the gauges for the air pressure. I wanted to be able to monitor the air pressure for each system.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00297.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00300.jpg
And like I had said before I had to redue my switch panel because the sheet metal was too thin.

So I now have in cab winch control too.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00306.jpg
Well things were not all roses as I had hoped. One of my first issues was that the ECM was not good. I ended up buying a new one. Then I had some issues with my STaK's box. I burned one up and they rebuilt it for me. But the first trip out with the new box and it broke.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00336.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00334.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMG00337.jpg
STaK's was awesome and sent me a new case. We finally figured it out and the problem was that they had never tested it for flat towing. Well Ok I guess I need a trailer now.
During me pulling the case in and out 3 times I managed to crack the rear tranny housing at the rear tranny cooler port.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0008.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0010.jpg
So I found a new case and was going to just have the parts swapped over. Well come to find out the tranny was SHOT!!!!! So I had to rebuild it.
When I had found out I had broken the tranny I also found out I had bent the shift rods in the STaK's case. Well STaK's sent me new rods, seals & o-rings free of charge. So I had to take the case a part and replace them. Now you want to talk about some BIG GEARS!!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0169.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0172.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0200.jpg

I use to have the Currie Anti-Rock swaybar but Off-Road Only had a new swaybar setup that is dual rate and is controled by the computer called the SwayLoc. It really stiffens up the Jeep on the road. Now I don't drive it often but?? When I do it is nice.

I had one switch installed for my Electric fan and the other is the OD switch.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0338.jpg
I found that the green switch was too brite for night driving and the little one would hit it now and then with her foot. Then I would overheat!!! so a new switch was installed. The OD did not work the way I had first been told and I need a momentary switch so I also changed it out.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0889.jpg
It always has bothered me that the fan thermostat that came with my electric fan was a bulb type. Well the damn thing broke off on me!!
So I replaced it with a controler that reads off the stock temp sensor.

Now all this was being done after a trip to Moab in May of 07. I had found some things that needed to be fixed. And I had more things to install that I just hadn't got to. One of them was the hydro assist cylinder.

To get it to fit I had to completely redo the track bar. So I cut the stock bracket off the frame and started building.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0298.jpg
Then cut the Rubicon Express track bar bracket for more clearance.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0296.jpg
Now it tucked higher up so I had to make a taller bracket on the axle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0317.jpg
And the hydro assist cyl was mounted below it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP0313.jpg
More bracket pictures.

This worked good for a while but during the Trail Jamboree in July 07 I ripped it all off the axle. I'll update the new mouting location later.
I also had picked up a GenRight 24.5 gal fuel tank. It is all aluminum and just cool. Plus I had a dent in my stock tank so it only held about 17 gal.

Now remember I said I had clocked the STaK case up more? Here are some shots of how it looked. Now I was too close to the floor boards.

So to fix the clearance issues between the STaK case and the floorboards I took the skid plate off AGAIN!! Boy am I getting good at that.
I pulled the tranny mount and cut about 1" out of it. It put the t-case just about perfect between the skid and floor boards.

It lasted for 4 months and then I got on the skinny pedal a little too much!!
And I did this!! Rimrock can be HARD on a rig.

I had the weekend free by the most part to work on the Jeep because my little one went down to a friends house to spend the night. So I did get a lot done just not a lot of pictures take. I had to re-install the York because it had gotten overhauled, took the intake off to make sure I hadn't "F" something up the last time I had it off. While I was putting it all back together I also thought I would try and do some little things I have been wanting to do since I'd put it all together the first time. I cleaned up the wiring on the passenger side, moved the power distrabution box back about 3" so I can get to the dual batteries better and also get at the main power point.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1744.jpg
Then I installed my new Throttle Body which has been bored out to 52mm. Stock is about 47mm I think.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1745.jpg
Side by side.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1624.jpg
Then my next little project took a little time. The power steering/hydrovac line that came off the back of the PS pump had always been too close to the header for me. So I was looking at that side of the Jeep and got to thinking. Welp I came up with this idea.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1747.jpg
Took it right up thru the fender back to the hydrovac.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1746.jpg
Did some other little stuff like re-install the AiRock ACU (I had sent it back to get the latest program update) and also cleaned up the air lines on the drivers side. It is all coming back together and hopefully I'll have the rear axle back soon so I can drive it a few times before I go to Moab in May.

So the past few days I have just been trying to tie up all the loose ends on stuff that needed to be done to get my Jeep ready for Moab in May.

Today I worked on a bracket to mount my XM Radio tuner on. It is also going to have a jack for a MP3 player.
So here is what I started with.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1816.jpg

Then some cutting and grinding.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1815.jpg

And then a little welding (if you can call it that!!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1817.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1818.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1819.jpg

Then weld it onto my cage and done. Got to pickup some paint tomorrow.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1820.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1821.jpg
Plus I found a use for my old uniforms!!

Next was to build a holder for my chainsaw. I can't claim that this was my idea. Some of the other guys in my club came up with the idea. They work at a pastic plant and got the stuff I used for me.

So first is to cut your pieces and then take a router and cut out the slot for your chainsaw bar.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1822.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1823.jpg

Next drill some holes and bolt it together.

Boggers  Those POS tires have been gone for YEARS!!

Boggers work in areas but NOT here in the PNW (Pacific Northwest).
They came on the Jeep when I bought it and I ran them for one spring. After that they were GONE!!

Well there is still some minor things I need to get done before Moab. But the Jeep rolled out of the garage under it's own power. I need to adjust the pinon angle and replace some bolts and stuff.
So here is what I got done today.
Painted the radio bracket.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1827.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1828.jpg
Then while the paint dried I made the tabs to mount the chainsaw holder.
(Ya I know I won't need it for Moab but I live in the PNW & do need it here)
It was on my to do list so it got done.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1833.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1832.jpg
Also I was making a new spot to mount the antenna for my GPS.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1834.jpg

So here is the XM mount installed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1837.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1838.jpg
And the jack for a MP3 player.

So the radio that is in the Jeep is a marine unit and is hardwire remote controlled. I have the remote mounted on the center console and can choose between regular radio, XM radio, CD or PM3.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1836.jpg
So the paint had dried and I got the antenna mounted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1844.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1845.jpg
And here is the XM tuner in place.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/wildman4x4nut/Jeep/IMGP1846.jpg

And I got the chainsaw houlder mounted. It turned out real good.

The top fits above it plus the only time I run a top is in the winter. From about April til November I run a Safari bikini top. I ripped the crap out of my bikini top last year so I wouldn't want to run a full top. Too expensive to have to replace.

Sorry guys I have had a busy summer and have not been on the site much.

I used a York compressor for my OBA. The line coming out is from Off-Road Only and is a metal line they sell. It is spendy but worth it.

Before this I used copper line and ran it over to my distribution block. You need some type of high temp line or get an hose shop to use A/C line and make you a custom hose.
