Hi, my name is Jason and I'm the Founder/President of Wheelers For The Wounded. You can read more about that at www.wheelersforthewounded.org or www.myspace.com/wheelersforthewounded or in a thread here on this site: http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/showthread.php?t=786

I served in the Army from 1989 to May 2001, at which time I was medically discharged (1 fractured vertebrae in my neck and 2 fractured vertebrae in my back). Through a massive amount of physical therapy I have healed for the most part, but still have constant pain that will be with me for the rest of my life.

I am a veteran of the 1st Gulf War and served 2 tours in Bosnia ('95/'96 and again in '98) and 1 in support of the Kosovo peacekeeping mission. I was stationed in Ft. Myer, Virginia and in various places throughout Germany.

I'm currently a private contractor for the U.S. Department of State in Fallujah, Iraq and am assigned to various Army and Marine units. I've been here since June 5, 2007 and just signed an extension to stay until January 4, 2009. After that, I'll extend my stay again until mid-March of 2009.

I've owned 3 Jeeps in the past...a red 1995 Jeep Wrangler SE, a red 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport, and a red 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. My most recent Jeep is a black 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon which is currently going through a massive customization process. I think one of the toughest things about being in Iraq is how much I miss my Jeep! hahahaha :D

Anyhow, I'm proud to have been a member of our countries military and am just as proud to be a part of this website where fellow military members, past and present, can enjoy our love of wheeling and Jeeps.

Thanks for all the greetings! :)

Treefrog...I'll be passing through Baghdad in June for a few days. Do you know where you'll be yet? Camp Liberty? Camp Striker? Maybe we could meet up at the PX...Pizza Hut on me! :)

TXCJ7...the TX chapter of TTORA is hosting the event there. Sign up on the forum and get them good ol' boys jumpin' on this. They haven't been very active on the forum, but I know they're planning charity events and they have some good ideas for the main event. Anyhow, let them know your interested in what they're planning and they'll fill you in.

Wildman...thanks for filling me in on this website...what a great place! :D

Unless something changes, I'll be on Camp Victory. Hopefully, I'll be inside the wire when you come through and we could meet up.

Sweet...Camp Victory has a good PX (the one here in Fallujah is tiny) and has a few food places...Taco Bell being one of them. LET'S MAKE A RUN FOR THE BORDER!!! TACO'S ALL AROUND! :D

Glad to see the younger generations still being proud enough to go to bat for his/her country.

I've always felt the urge to serve my country...I did so for 12 years on a global scale as a soldier, for 6 years on a local scale as a deputy sheriff, and now for 2 years on a global scale once again. Regardless of the crappy pay and harsh living conditions, I get a sense of joy doing service work. Though, honestly, my pay is a little better now that it was before.

When you make it to Camp Victory, swing by the IG office. That's where I'll be.

I don't know...IG? Hmmm...should I be worried? Actually, I haven't a clue what the IG really does. :)

I'll let you know what day I'll be there and we'll meet up...in that office or over at the PX for some TACO BELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! :D
