I asked for jeep stuff for christmas and hope I get them. Anyone else?

korisu56
12-08-2007, 21:35
You bet your arse I did. Don't see it happening anymore though. What'd you get?

miljeep
12-09-2007, 01:05
I am asking for these seat covers. /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

http://www.militaryjeepers.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/34#Post34

I always needed a grenade pouch on the drivers seat.

Yeah, those are definitely on my list. Saw those in November when my xmas 4wd catalog got here. Definitely sweet. I'm shooting for a functional jeep.

miljeep
12-09-2007, 15:24
I don't know what I did to tick 4Wd off, but I have never got a catalog from them. I even signed up for their contest hoping to get a catolog or get on their mailing list, but nothing.

korisu56
12-09-2007, 15:56
I'd call and check on that. That's the sngle biggest jeep porn rag that I know.

12-12-2007, 20:31
yea I askd for new tires and got them already cooper discovery stt 32" and I got one of those seat covers already too so now all I need is the other 2 to go with it. and yes it is a awsome seat cover I like it and very functional

korisu56
12-12-2007, 20:36
I'm really wanting to get one too. My only thing is that I would need to see it because I would think that it would be a PITA to get to. Is this not so? Do you just fold your seats up to get to it.

miljeep
12-12-2007, 20:37
Are those seat covers really worth the money? I think I may try to get the rear seat one first, then work on the front ones after the new year.

korisu56
12-12-2007, 20:39
I would imagine so, but I went price runnin the pouches, and those things don't come cheap.

medic76
12-12-2007, 20:44
Yea, I think they are I was kind of worried that they might be made with some cheap type of cloth, but they are made real well and of a heavy cloth and the stiching that is used in the back for the bags and sems to be well done. the thing that I really like is ( one the front seat one that I bought) the part that you it on it wraps around the sides and also has some more eyelets to put stuff on on all three sides of the part you sit on and the great thing is you can hook those bags in anyway /anywhere you want to. oh yea and the bags are made real well too

miljeep
12-12-2007, 20:47
I may have to try them out.

korisu56
12-12-2007, 20:49
I prolly will. Just because.

medic76
12-12-2007, 21:01
I have'nt been disapointed yet, the only thing that I am waiting for is to find a holster that fit on the side so I can keep my glock right there insted of the floor or between the e brake and the console. any Ideas? for a holster.

korisu56
12-12-2007, 21:02
Hm. Actually, when I was at clothing and sales yesterday, they had a holster that you could put on your IBA/LBV. I'll see if I can get more info/pricing on it.

medic76
12-12-2007, 21:07
cool. see if they have it i black since that is the color of the seat cover and my interior. let me know thanks.
that is one thing I miss about being in the army was tthe clothing and sales they had some neat stuff and good deals.

miljeep
12-12-2007, 21:09
We use all Blackhawk SERPA holsters. I have the thigh, the concealed and some others for both the Beretta and the Sig (9mm's) that we carry depending on where we are. Blackhawk makes some good stuff, but sort of expensive. They retain the weapon great, and are easy to get the weapon out because your finger naturally slides over the release when you go to draw your weapon. If you are right handed, you would have to mount it on the right side of the seat and I am not sure how legal the weapon would be that close and also if you have a console, it would suck.

Maybe you could mod a holster that mounts under the dash to the left of the shifters. I know I have a boot knife mounted on the left side of the drivers side near my feet that I can reach with only a little bending over. It is set to come out really easy. I also have some other stuff inside my jeep. I guess too many contractor-tyoe schools gets you to the point where you want to be prepared for anything.

korisu56
12-12-2007, 21:10
Yeah. Definitely good deals. I wish they just sold more "after market" LBV crap. They're still trying to sell stuff from LCE's...anywho, I'm searching the website now, but worse comes to worse I'll go down there after work tomorrow and check it out. Doubt its gonna be black though, I'd check ranger joes or something similar.

korisu56
12-12-2007, 21:11
Definitely would like to check out your set up miljeep. I'm paranoid about shit like that, and I've been trying to figure out good ways to do it. I've also been looking at the boot knife for under the dash, but didn't know how it'd work out.

medic76
12-12-2007, 21:13
cool I will check it out since I have to work tonight and I donn't have to save anyone yet and hopefully for the next 12 hrs.

Aircraft landing lights, huh? That must be sweet as hell. How does it work with the battery drain? Do you have pics?

miljeep
12-12-2007, 21:35
you are serious about the aircraft landing lights? Is it kind of like the "custom fan shroud" or "chromed out valve stem caps"??

korisu56
12-12-2007, 22:06
Dude...back off my valve stem caps.

asked for a gift cert from quadratec! Hopefully the wife and parents pull though! my jeep needs a lot of work still!

miljeep
12-12-2007, 23:05
you can usually get better prices from a local dealer if you join a jeep club with a discount. If we ge enough people here, we can try to apply for the Quadratec and 4Wd club discount programs. The problem here is that we don't charge a membership fee. The only way I can see getting around it is to charge a penny so that we can say that we have members that "pay" which may allow us to get the discount. I am sure that they may work something special if we tell them the military aspect of the site / community and if we have enough people to meet the minimum membership requirements.

medic76
12-12-2007, 23:06
Yep, they are really air craft landing lights, I got 2 of them mounted on the tube that comes off my bumper, and battery drain not too bad, I only turn them on when it is running. but they work great for those people that like to drive at you with there brights on.

miljeep
12-12-2007, 23:07
oh, spill the beans. How do we get them. Even if I never use them, I want to have it in my signature.

Metz
12-12-2007, 23:08
Quadratec will give you a discount depending on who you end up talking with over the phone if you let them know you are active duty. Other than that- they usually give me a discount just because I've blown 7k on their site over the last 7 months.... I'm pretty sure if i keep that up my wife will divorce me lol.

Well my dad gave them to me and, and he got them along time ago, but he had them mounted on his corvette behind the grill. The only place I have seen them on is ebay and if I remember right they were $$$. A friend of mine also has some but he doesn't even use them and he won't sell them, but I keep trying to get him to sell them to me. the only bad thing is, is that the housing is the old style chrome spot light housing ( that I painted black) and I cant find any other housing for them.

Ah- well, I'll poke around and see what I can stumble across.

Also- for those of you with some extra molle gear floating around- http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=0&plID=125&partID=16006

I bet. My buddy has four KC lights mounted on his front bumper, and they prolly don't have shit on yours.

medic76
12-13-2007, 00:47
You are probly right, but he has 4 and I have 2 and they work good enough for me and besides they were free.

miljeep
12-13-2007, 07:09
Well, I would love to actually see someone's reaction when you put on those landing lights. I watched some videos last night showing the different lights and they are freakin bright. Like Koris said above, those 2 landing lights probably blow away 4, 5, or heck 10 KC lights.

I was saying despite him having twice as many as you, yours probably would blow his out of the water.

miljeep
12-13-2007, 21:42
Have you tried using loctite to keep them from coming loose? some loctite (http://www.gemplers.com/product/111617/Loctite-Medium-strength-Threadlocker)

You can find it at advanced auto, pep boys, auto zone, etc...

korisu56
12-13-2007, 22:13
Or some locking nuts?

miljeep
12-13-2007, 22:15
Or vice grips?? Just kidden, I know, contrary to what I may suggest when someone is wrenching their jeep, vice grips are not the answer to everything.

medic76
12-13-2007, 22:19
I will try the those ideas, thanks by the way I posted some pics in the photo part

korisu56
12-13-2007, 22:23
Yeah. Definitely looks good.

miljeep
12-13-2007, 22:23
The blue loctite is good and is serviceable by hand tools. The red loctite requires heat and hand tools. I would try the blue loctite. You can get a tube for like 4 bucks. the stick is about 12. Just keep an eye on it for a little while and see how it works.

The good thing about buying the loctite is that you will have it on hand for future jobs. Anytime you do a mod, you should probably use loctite to help keep the stuff from coming loose on the trails.

Saw the photos. sharp looking jeep.

Man, you caught on to my ways quick.

Apparently I'm supposed to cut one end and rig it up. I'll try today. I mounted it onto the ebrake handle cause it's not tight and I don't use it. I'll keep you updated.

I got gift certificates, but they're to JC whitney. Not much in the aftermarket as far as what I was going for, but I'm sure I'll find something.

Ordered two racing seats for the Jeep. I have been cruising around JC whitney looking for crap to buy. I found that they are selling reclining racing seats buy-one-get-one free for 159-something. Plugged in the promo code that is one of the first posts on this site (still works), and it dropped to 121. After shipping and crap it came out to 170. Not too shabby.
