Hi All!
I've had my jeep for 3 days now and am already addicted to figuring out what I can do to it. It's a 2005 TJ...2" BB is in the mail and I plan on putting 32s on it. I've wanted one for some time but it never seemed to work out with assignments. I'm currently stationed in DC and will have at least 2 years here. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Welcome
Coastie,
Did you ever get your RE Lift installed? I was following the wrenching party on NOVA, but couldn't make it out to help. I am looking at buying the same lift. Do you like it? Post some pics.
Sorry to hijack the thread Jen, but you'll have to forgive me. I'll pay you back in red wine. :)
Jen, Don't you have a paper to write? Get back to work.
welcome 1st suggestion if you are thinking about going big with it, do it the first time don't work your way up and i think a lot of people will agree it's cheaper in the long run
congrats on the purchase
my plan is protection than lift...so far I'm riding on some 2" procomp springs Korisu56 helped me install, gonna armor the fat belly up a bit 'cause I'm not going to 4" for at least a year...

My suggestions is to get out of DC as soon as possible. Just kidding. DC is an OK area. Welcome. Where are you all stationed in the DC area?

Welcome aboard.
I'm pretty sure there will be a 'New To Jeeping' run soon by Nova Jeepers.
But on that note as far as things to see what it can do, I will recommend not going the route I did.
Lift without armor.
You should armor first. Learn the capabilities of your Jeep. Then get bigger.

Welcome
Another Welcome
I will disagree with a little of the advice, yes it is always better to only do the work once. But your Jeep also needs to grow with you not the other way around. Building a rig that you have no idea how to handle off-road will not make you a happy camper. Buy parts that can be used on your rig as you grow. A good example is this months JP mag. They are talking about how to spend your tax return. Well on one TJ they used ACOS spacers which can be reused with a later lift. Yes they cost more now but they pay for themselves in the long run.
Sorry to get so long winded.
