View Full Version : Thanks in advance to chris
Right now I am at work, but Chris stopped by the house this morning to pick up my old jeep and bring it to the shop to mess around with the exhaust and see what the clicking is in the steering box. I just wanted to thank him in advance, even though he won't see this until tonight.
Chris, I'll buy ya that beer I owe you and some more for your troubles today.

Thanks for helping out with the jeep at your place. Also, thanks for the charger for the camera. I am going to take it out for a spin and renew my faith in my jeep.

yeah! Take a good look............... Its the last time youll see the nightmare in a mud hole!
Needless to say, he found what had to be the most damaging 50 meters of trail in GWNF. Lesson learned with that ride, have fun in a mud hole once, not for 45 minutes.

Noted.
well mine was just the igntion switch $15 not the coil or starter like we thaught and it had nothing to do with the mud hole on that ride just 24 years old, the cj is still running strong so bring on the mud

Haha
Well, I took the ol' girl out for a ride and other than the popping noise cming from the area around the steering box that chris pointed out, it drives better than when chris first took it.
The rattling noise is gone. He said that it loked like I may have hit the exhaust system somehow, probably on the last trail ride and it may have tweaked it so that it was resting right above a part of the frame. When the vehicle would flex a little, it rattled. hence the "i am hearing nosies when I turn left" comment from a few weeks ago.
He also tightened up a pretty important part which was working loose (should have used fifthpro's checklist after the last ride) ad now their is not as much wiggle in the tires as I drive.
so, tonight was like driving the jeep when it was new again, but bigger and badder.
thanks chris. I owe you more than one beer.
