Well so my ETS date is coming up, means Ill be able to go back home, even though Im only planning on staying there for a year I still want to get some wheeling in while Im there. Only problem is I have never really gone on the trails there, yeah I did some for Snowmobiling, hunting, camping, fishing and that other stuff, but not something made for a Jeep. Comming from Colorado Im lookin for an area thats gonna have rocks and really stiff trails, only place I can think of though is in the northwestern U.P. Anyone got some sugestions that I can search up before I move back there in October?

Mounds is mostly mud
Drummond Island has an orv park. It's the same place they hold a Jeep Jam every year. I've road the trails there. Haven't been there sense they did the park. Heard it has logs, rocks, and mud. Also tight trails. Can also run on the beach along Lake Huron. Look up Drummond Island on the web, should tell you about the park and trails. If ya head up to God's country drop me a line. I'm only 90miles away.

Where's 'Thunder Lake'? (just did a mapquest and no-go:confused:)
Just curious, as I drove through the UP today, up 41 from Menominee to HWY 2, then East back to Ironwood and home.
Hit the A&W drive inn in Iron Mtn for lunch:D Man I miss the drive inn's!!

last time i was at the mounds it wasnt to bad mud wise.... though there were some rather large mud pits that i sat back and watched the big toys get stuck in
From what I hear Drummond Island is definitely the best place in the Upper Peninsula. The park is called Turtle Ridge ORV Park. I haven't been able to make it out there yet, mainly because of living in the northwestern UP. There's also some good trails out by me, especially if you like exploring and/or learning some interesting stuff about mining history.
Hillbille,
The town I'm closest to is Manistique. 90 mile west of the Mighty Mac on US2. I call the Thunder Lake area home. It's not a town. You were about 2hrs from me. How did the custom hardtop turnout. If anyone want's to go to drummond Island let me know.

Never got around to finishing it. Ended up building a 6 point cage, and the top just didn't work with it:D
Got a soft top now, so I'm ready for those weather changes off the big lake!
last time I saw it it was all ducted tape together. looks good
