I imagine that everyone has checked out the thread about WFTW having trouble.... I propose that our next big event should be a show and shine type event / fund raiser.

I am suggesting Vilseck or Graf as the location. (huge number of jeeps in the area) Tell me what you think. I am going TDY for a week today but will be happy to kick ideas around when I get back.


Right now my thoughts are show and shine off post (too many difficulties on post with private fund raisers), Maybe local camping. Kick some ideas around and see what we can do.

Alright guys don't worry about money to buy banners I got aafes car sales to sponsor this thiing, I am planning for the weekend of the 27th. I will start setup on Friday and whoever can make it Friday sweet the more the better.I am thinking we do bbq pulled pork, the car sales will get the food for us and we just have to buy back what's not used. They have a car wash area setup and will provide all the supplies to include banners, someone come up with somezhing ASAP. We just have to provide jeeps and bodies to wash cars , I will also have as many people volunteering from the community that I can get. So far VFW has basically agreed to provide manpower I just have to present it Tuesday at the meeting, we can make this happen and so far everyone is fired up about it here that I have talked to,let me know what u think of the plan so far.

Ok I am back and glad to see where this has gone while I was at Normandy.

Camping...... can someone find out how much the Vilseck campground charges.... It is back by the softball fields, I haven't stayed there in like 5 years.

Flier..... I will create one tomorrow at work, it will be in Microsoft publisher format.... If you do not have this at home you should at work.... If i am not mistaken this format can be opened with paint and with some creativity edited with paint to show you as the local contact.

Jeeps getting dirty? try getting with range control they used to allow some areas to be open for wheeling years ago but stopped for unknown reasons while I was in the states.

This needs to be advertised hard in the Vilseck and Graf area... there are lots of jeeps there but they never seem to get together.

I also love the idea of maybe having a show at the same time and opening it to other classes of vehicles. The question I have is can we give cash prizes at an on post show as prize sponsors will be very hard to come by this short of notice? I will be glad to organize the rules and judging for a show if somone can find out some rules for me.(ie prizes, will noise be allowed (db drag race), live entertainment, and can we get off post sponsors involved.) The faster I get the answers the faster I can come up with some rules and start conning some live entertainment or a few of the DJ's I know into pitching in. (not promising anything but me attempting to get some free entertainment) If we can make it a show we can also talk to the local car stereo shop for a DB drag race. There is a shop on Vilseck by the auto craft center that may enjoy the advertising. And maybe see if Jo at 4x4 Garage is interested in sponsoring the 4x4 class of the show. I am sure there are local tuner shops in the graf area for the other classes.

I can come down as early as this weekend to help start putting some of this together if it is needed. (IE finding and talking to the local shops and assist in fliering and getting word of mouth out.)

Also BIGSKY, CHUCKNES, and MYBLACK89YJ I can get the fliers printed for free (lots of them do not ask how) I will need a hand in this area fliering, talking to possible local sponsors, and talking to people. I assume I can count you in?

Amazing what happens when your off the net a few days. This sounds like a great deal. I'm in, I'll see if range control will let us play in the back yard in Graf. (JMTC runs Range control anyways). I met with Mike yesterday to go over some more details for the project this month, he is going to talk to SGT Morales club to see if they will sponsor it and grease the wheels with the paperwork, also he is going to go Red Direct with the 7th ATC CSM to get his support, I talked to the VFW on Tuesday and they will support as well as have a table out at the car wash, I talked to Kingz motorcycle club and they will have their bikes out there as well as provide personnel, AAFES will support us with the food and the car wash supplies and the first 20 cars to wash, I also talked to Vilseck Jeep Club and they will have their Jeeps and personnel here to help out, also they can take us out to the gold mine to get nasty prior to the event. I am going to link up with Kingz, Mike, Vilseck Jeep Club, and AAFES this weekend, if the flyer is done I need a copy emailed to me so we can do any tweaking/printing we need to do, Mike is on SD today so I am going to go work on it with him. Anyone with any ideas or help give me a call on my cell or email me. Take care.

thanks to DPW we can not make the car wash happen on post. My suggestion is that we just take the WTU out for the weekend, and/or come up with another fundraiser, like a bake sale or something, we can get the paperwork through for another fundraiser but we just have to come up with something. Help me out with some ideas guys. Bake sale? Or I say we just take out WTU and fly some banners for Wheelers for the Wounded and Parade Graf, Vilseck, do some local wheelin, I will have the campsite all set, and we all make private donations to keep him going until we can come up with a fundraiser. Burnout contest, all kinds of vehicles can be invited. $15 bucks to enter and we Can produce a nice picture for each vehicle that enters. I have a pretty good photo printer. These are the shit. Rear axle of the vehicle is attached to something solid like the back of a Hemmit with chains, like the ones on a Hemmit wrecker. Each contestant gets like 25 seconds and then they are stopped. The patrons interested in watching will be charged maybe $5 a head to get in. We could sell bbq food here and add a few other easy fundraisers. Easy to run, no overhead, lots of fun, lots of smoke. The top two burnouts get to go till they blow at the end. Maybe have a dunk booth here as well.

Show and shine ( Gus is the subject matter expert on this one)

Baby and kids resale (sell your kids old crap) or your own old crap. Basically a garage sale where you don't keep any profit it all goes to WFTW.

Bagger for a day (commisary) baggin groceries and donating profits. We would have to talk to the commisary about this.

Car smash. Beat the hell out of a hooptie with a hammer. Afterwards we can flex the Jeeps on it.

Chili cook off

Eating Contest (maybe hotdogs for the females and fish tacos for the guys)

How many in the Jar, basically put a bunch of something in a Jar and have people guess how many. They obviously have to win something to make it worth their time.

Aafes is applying some pressure for the car wash, they said that they will be able to make it happen, we should have an answer this afternoon, if not we will get one in the morning, the burnout is a DEFINITE NOGO here, apparently it is not condusive to good order and discipline (BS) now if we can still get the carwash through, we can do a car smash also, in conjunction 1$ and you get to sledge a car while your car is being washed. If so I need to reserve the shotguns. I would prefer to have everyone here by Fri night if possible, we want to link up by 0630 Sat morning on Vilseck to head out to the trail. SP Vilseck 0700, RP Grafenwohr 0830, Roll out from wash rack by 0900 to start our mini parade on post flying the flags. Still have not been able to get in touch with the WTU 1sg, Bubba, see if you can engage that through ur connections, I am doing to much running around. We will wash from 1000-1700. Sunday we will chill, wheel and shoot skeet. Everyone can stay at my house for an inclimate weather plan, camping is in my back yard.

If the weather is shiesty we will set up in my backyard cuz of the kids, we dont want them getting sick, I know if the weather sucks Jen will have to take the baby home. So if the weather sucks and you still want to camp feel free to set up your tent in my yard, if you dont want to get wet I have room for everyone inside. Why dont you save the money and stay with us? since you guys have kids you guys could stay in the basement in the big bedroom, it has a bathroom and there is 2 couches. Save some money

Ok, we are going to be at my house, it just works out better with the kids and so on, hillbilly, don't go to the hotel, you can have the spare bedroom with the kids. everyone else can split up the couches and the other single bed and whatevers left over can sleep on air mattresses.
