Devil Dog......
I did get out thanks to my winch! That is an old fighting position that I am stuck in. Funny story really, my buddy got stuck in it and had to call me to come and get him. I got there and pulled him right out with a Kinetic strap. I told him I would give it a try just for fun as we had him there to recover me with no worries. Well the front goes right through but when the rear hits it will not budge. There is no rocking & my Jeep has ARB's front and rear...yes they were engaged. Well, when we hooked the strap up to my Jeep and starting to pull me out his clutch linkage gave way with my rig still stuck in the hole! While he was using my tools to repair his junk I winched myself out and packed everything up.

I got out...notice the broken CJ5 in the background

Sorry for the driveway pic....but it is about the best one I have of the rear bumper....old school Trail Ready bumper.

Man that was a wicked hole. Also dam that is one nice bumper. Are the wrap arounds attached to it to?

Thanks for the kind words!

1. The stuck Jeep pic hole is on Belvoir, the other is in GWNF
2. The side sections or bars are attached to the sides of the bumper.
3. The bumper is an old Trail Ready design that is no longer made. (I do not think that they even offer TJ bumpers any more.) It was around before the crush corners became the standard. Now, it serves as a mini ladder for my boy to get on to the top.

I had the front bumper that matched the rear one but changed it out for a simpler design. Parts of it still lives in a buddy's rig....

IRT the TrXus MT's....it depends what you intend to set your vehicle up for. I have no specific set-up for my Jeep other than continued mobility in austere conditions. There are much better mud tires, better rock tires, sand, snow etc then there is on road and off road handling, balancing, etc.

At the end of the day I like the tires and would put them on another rig with the "multi-purpose" capability as the end state. Another option that offers the same like type capabilities is Toyo Open Country MT's.

nice jeep, i love your license plate to. what kind of front bumper is that.

The front bumper is made by a MJ club member BESRK or Ground Pounder Fab. 02TJ (also a MJ member) had one made and so did Pacifier (MJ member). Get with BESRK and he will make you one.

The license plate...well, I had no intentions in ever getting a custom plate but wanted a plate that offset the numbers to the right so my bumper would not cover up some of the numbers. Then it asked me for 4 digits..ok, how about Jeep? No, taken...alright PeeJ, Nope. Well, I got into a challenge with the computer and the good folks at NC DMV and came up with what I have in about 30 minutes. After spending that much time I just ended up paying the extra and got the plate. Funny thing is the cops do no know what it is/says and they have actually asked if it was a fake plate. Probably more than you wanted to know......

Cheers!

Well the old Bucket of Bolts now is sporting a fully functional Dual Battery System with twin Yellow Top Optimas thanks to Old School and Green Side Up of BW Jeepers.

Next stop...On board welder for those "ol my God" trail fixes or anytime that I know that Pacifier is going wheeling.

Thanks for the kind words. The answer to your question is 4 posts up but I am happy to give Eddie @ Ground Pounder Fab another plug. It is both bolted and welded on. Awesome guy to work with and he stands behind his work. If you desire to get one just let him know! I was introduced to him by other MJ members (02TJ and Pacifier) who had the bumper well before I did. I also have a Pull Pal mount that he fabbed that I am proud as hell of! If you like the bumper you should see it! Very creative......

02TJ, did you get my PM around 0630 Sat morning explaining that I would not be at the show? If not, sorry.

I got the entire shooting match (Some $700+) worth of tray, batteries, isolator and wiring harness all installed and fully functional.

I am pretty pleased with everything (except the cost). If anyone is interested I can provide pics of the install but it looks just like all the other ones I am sure are out there.

Cheers!

Well, as promised I took some happy snaps of the Dual Battery Install. Nothing fancy, just function.

The two Yellow Top Optima Batteries are sitting on a Tomkin Dual Battery Tray that is designed for the "L" shaped configuration. Not having air-condition, I did not need to re-route the AC lines that come out of the firewall. It also allows for the snorkel tube to run from the air-box, under the tray and out through the fender. (Something to keep in mind for folks that have AC and Snorkel. Mean Green offers a stackable tray that will not accommodate the snorkel tube but works for folks with AC.)

Next is the Isolator, wiring harness and cab control unit, all purchased from Wrangler NW. The wiring harness for the control unit runs through a hole cut in the firewall with one wire stopping in the fuse box and the rest run under the windshield vent terminating on the left side of the dash. I desired a mounting location that was functional, out of the way yet accessible when needed that did not rob me of real-estate that would be better used with something else. I think that I found the perfect location on the dash bar. It required drilling two additional holes in the mounting bracket and then using wire to keep it in place. The isolator is connected with the batteries with the supplied wiring and terminals.

The cab control unit and isolator allows for the following:

Switched to the left: Starts with main battery, charges both batteries, batteries isolated from each other with the ignition off.

Switch in the center: Only main battery starts vehicle, only main battery is charged, only powers accessories on main battery, totally disconnects auxiliary battery from main.

Switched to the right: Connects both batteries with ignition off or on, joins batteries when main battery is dead or motor is not running. If motor is dead, ignition off, batteries can be joined for winching or battery boosting.

The cab control mount:
