OK, this info can also be found on the WARN winching guideline that is a Sticky.

This one has larger pictures (what a pain to draw) and is formatted to the same page size as the others.

Some real basic data here, what is not pictured is something placed on the cable to arrest the cable in the even of line failure.

Great illustration. Recovery gear is one thing I've really lacked in my wheeling experience. Thus far I've been lucky enough to be able to get myself out of a jam with a highlift, chain, and an Original Warn 8000 which is probably older than I am. I'm a big believer in long handled shovels. E tools look cool and compact (and are better than nothing at all) but when there's actual material to be removed from the underside of your rig nothing beat a normal length spade.

Here's the snatch block I want to get a couple of: http://rockstomper.com/catalog/recovery/blocks.htm

BigNorm,
I have been watching for reviews on the newest Snatch Block produced by ARB. There are a number of features that make it very appealing but I have yet to test one myself.
1. One handed operation
2. Lighter weight
3. Rounded edges (my regular snatch blocks cut the bottom of my recovery bag)

Holy Crap! Now that's beefy. But what's the price tag on it?

I need to get a snatch block, and the $60 one looks like it would be just fine.

I know it has been a while since the original post, however if anyone needs a decent snatch block at a low price check Ebay. I got mine from Lokakech 20000 lbs rating for about $35 shipped. I have used it a couple of times in ugly spots and it worked fine

Heck, I have a couple of the 10,000 lbs ones from ebay for about $20 each. Had no problem doing a change of direction pull on a Dodge 1500.
