    Default Military Vehicle lighting??

Ok, so I'm out here in Iraq on my second deployment, asking around about the entire lighting system for our vehicle systems. I keep getting stonewalled. All I am really looking for is some NSN's and if iI can grab some off a broke ass Hummee or LMTV, or another downed vehicle, I would be satisfied as well, but nobody seems to be willing to help me out.

Here is what I'm looking for:
    Sealed Headlights
    Taillights w/blackout reciever
    Amber front marker lights
    Blackout drive light
Switch panel (push button, or rotary switch)

Basically the entire outside lighting system for a Military hummvee, and many other military vehicles. I'm planning on building "MIL-ICON". It's going to be a Jeep LJ Rubicon, military tribute Jeep. The plan is Tough as nails OD Green paint/powder-coat with black military stenciling, built to the hilt, 36" tires on 4" lift, replica .50 cal on a removable mount (so I can still use the rear seat), and many other goodies. When it's all done I want it to look authentic enough that people will think that it is a military issued vehicle. Tough ass trial rig/cool show jeep. Unfortunately the largest part of the overall look is the lighting. I'm sure that if anyone can help me with this dilemma, Military Jeepers, would be the place to start asking. This plan is not cheap, and I am only a lowly E-4, so price is very important (needs to be the lowest we can find, like military contracts)

    Thanks

Ebay usually has that stuff. Also check www.steelsoldiers.com . There are a lot of folks with parts over there.

    oh jeez.

I work at a maintenance company and if I were on drill I could probably find it...

Go on google - search for the maintenance manual for an M998 utility truck. Everything the military publishes like that is public domain. when you get one you want to scan it for the Independent Parts Breakdown (IPB) which lists the different subassemblies and how they fit together. That should have the applicable NSNs or part numbers you need.

I would not officially advise pilfering any extra parts though as vehicle parts are considered sensitive items. Best look out on ebay.

    edit:

here's what I found through a cursory google search http://www.tpub.com/content/hummer/

    The TM is 2320-280-20p
Remember that m998 is 24V not 12V, so you will have to replace all bulbs or go with th LMTV they are LED's and will work in 12V...
    Good Luck

Good info on the LEDs. I thought they would only work with the 24v. I saw a couple of them on ebay.

I got the link off of a local shops web site. I will post thier link at the bottom they have tons of LED lights, and I guess thier prices are not bad you just have to call them to get any prices.
