Default PLEASE.... help me identify this winch

OK, so I bought a winch from a member on GL4x4 that was in pieces. I was told it was ramsey 8k or 8.5k winch. It's been painted over, and all the identifying marks other than 2 sets of numbers are gone. I looked them up on the ramsey site and could only identify the drum serial number. My stepdad is trying to put it together for me and he needs a manual. I was wondering if any of you ramsey owners might be able to identify it by it's top cover. It's supposed to say ramsey across the top cover in silver letters, and has the remote plug in the front vs the side. The first picture is my winch... obviously. The second picture is what the winch should look like. Unfortunately, the model number is covered up by a damn bracket on the motor.

Oh... and I did email Ramsey twice. Once last week and once yesterday. Nothing yet from the email last week.

You might try this site. It is ramsey's site. I went to it and it is kind of a pain to navigate but you might find your winch there.

How old is your winch suppose to be?

I'm Mike, make sure you spell it right, because I do not want to get the wrong A$$hole in trouble.

If you do not have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time do do it over?

I've looked all over their site with no luck. No idea how old it is, but I am guessing mid to late 80's.

    Yeah, Ramsey site...
    http://www.ramsey.com/automotive/man...tml#automotive
    You can download manuals there...
    now, guessing which one?
This info may help narrow it down...
    Ramsey Patriot 8000
    Overall dimensions(LxWxH) 22.66" x 6.12" x 9.94" (576 mm x 156 mm x 252 mm)
    Drum sizeDiameter 2.5" (63 mm) Length 9" (228 mm)

At least that's the dimensions for the 8000. You might try downloading the catalog and seeing if that can point you any closer...

Well thanks to someone on another site, I've found out that it is a ramsey pro 9000.
http://www.ramseypdfs.com/owners_sea...484-0299-R.pdf My stepdad is going to inventory the parts after they come out of his parts cleaner. There are some parts missing. I will have to try and see if I can get those parts replaced when I call Ramsey. This particular model isn't in production, so we will have to see.
