I haven't heard anything about Jeep in a while. Are they going to continue under Chrysler or what?

Not sure, but I see they've continued further down the soccer mom line by creating some weird baby blue color.
The way emissions standards and new fuel economy standards are going in the next few years, I expect the jeep as we know it to become extinct.

The Wrangler line will NEVER be extinct, it has a huge following and is a money maker. Jeep as we know it will never be the same, it is now a passenger vehicle line like all

If Jeep can make a 30mpg Wrangler I'd believe you... somehow, I don't see it happening anytime soon though. Especially not within the next 5 years.

It's possible. LS1's can make close to 30mpg on the highway. They just need to get their thinking caps on.

The way I understand the mpg requirements is that Chrysler's fleet would have to average 30mpg. So even if the Wrangler doesn't hit the 30 mark, the other more efficient cars could keep the average up there.

This is correct. This statement is what allows companies to keep the 1 tons, 3/4 Tons and sports cars

Hmm, so a Wrangler with 37 boggers getting 9 MPG would kinda hurt the average right?
95 Wrangler, 2.5 4cyl, Built Dana 44's, 37 Boggers, no strait body panels.
