Default Moab - Hole in Rock trail - Labor Day 09

Wanted to do this trail because of the camping along the trail. The trail starts about 100 miles south of Moab and lasts 3 days. It has a 6 rating, but that's really only two obstacles at that rating, I only used my lockers 3-4 times in three days. Really good time in beautiful country. Notice that we gased up at a small landing strip before heading offroad. Also, you'll see that we had to medivac a guy out the second day. Strong recommendation if you want something alittle more low keyed then some of the tougher trails Moab is known.

Tiff my wife and I did the trail from Escalante to the Hole in the Rock. We did not do the last stretch down to the river since we were by ourselves and I was not confident I could get back up with out using my winch and didn't have enough cable/straps to get to a good anchor point. From the photos it looks like you came in from the other side, from Bluff southwest down to the river. From the photos I would say that end of the trail is more challenging as the road on the other side is pretty well maintained for the first 50 miles or so and you only needed 4wd for the last stretch. Great photos.
