Default 1978 Jeep J10 Restoration Project

New to this site and figured I would post some pictures and start a build thread so everyone could check out the truck. I'm kind of in the middle of my build so I'll only post certain pictures, to see the rest visit the link in my signature. It is a bit of a slow process because the truck is at a buddies garage and I only get about 1-2 days per week to work on it. Enjoy the pictures, there will be more to follow I promise.

    Picture from previous owner

Spray bombed to remove pink, also removed cap and running boards

Bed Removed, gas tank was attached to underside of bed (not a fan of that) used some straps to hold the tank on until we pulled it in the garage.

Only Frame rot on entire rear end were where the bump stops sat.

Painted frame after cleaning with wire wheel. Used Valspar Tractor and Implement paint and brushed it on. I'm really happy with the results the paint has some sort of self-smoothing compound in it, there were no brush marks at all.

Re-geared the rear axle. Originally had 3.53 gear ratio I'm running 4.56 now.

These two pictures are the final pattern that was run when the new gears were set.

These pictures are of the rear after I got the 6 inch springs on as well as the axle re-geared and everything painted. Only thing left for the rear is to figure out a larger gas tank, brake lines, brakes, shocks, and the bed.

Here are some pictures of the bed. As you can see I have a little work to do but all in all the bed is in pretty good shape.

That is where the truck sits as of now. This week the plan is to cut and patch the rotten areas on the underside of the bed and clean it to be undercoated. Pictures of my progress should be posted by the end of the week. I'm also looking into installing a 25 gallon Ford Bronco tank to give me a little more range than the 15-18 gallon fabricated tank that was on the truck.
