This maybe a silly notion, but did you check your shift linkage?
just put all the stuff back on from my SYE and now my shifter for my 4wd is not working, any ideas?

LOL that was my first thought to. sometimes we get excited and forget the details. I forgot to reconnect the battery once and was like WTF why wont this start, great more money i have to spend untill i popped the hood and said "wow im a dumbass"

The linkage is under the lever and under the tub.
it is on the driver side of the transfer case, has a rod that attaches to the body tub and one that attaches to the transfer case about 8" or so long with a swivel mount on the body. I will see if i can try to dig up a pic for you if you cant find it. hope this helps,
oh the best way to tell what this is is get under the jeep. (chalk tires) and have a buddy cycle the transfer case level in the cab and watch for what moves and if it is not hooked up to the transfer case that will be your problem.

Nope, no touchy, but if the handle doesn't move anything that's the first place to look. After that it's x-fer case.
