    Default Holy Atomic Axles!

I was directed to this video. These are the axles that were discussed in the vendor forum and we were all curious about:

I believe it is a 9" center and 60 outers. I may be wrong. They have been around a few years and are sweet!. Overkill Engineering builds them. Looking at those for my future build.

They are supposed to be awesome, but I have heard rumors of fronts pushing $10k and the rear not far behind that. OUCH!

You could buy 10 yj's for the cost of one axle and just run them into the ground and leave them where they die....

    Default Atomic Pricing

    Hey, Guys.

Thanks for all the comments on the axles. We had a hell of a lot of fun doing the R&D on these things and it's great to see people talking them up.

I thought I'd take a moment to give you the lowdown on pricing since the discussion here seemed a little vague.

Basically, you can buy a front and rear set of Atomics without any suspension mounts (what we call the "builder" style) for $13,200. That includes the Dana 60 outers with Warn hubs and disc brakes, the 9-inch third members with ARB lockers, and whatever hub configuration and gear ratio you want. The bolt-in sets for the Jeep JK and TJ are $14,800, which includes all of the above, plus suspension mounts.

Because so many guys have already upgraded their axles in the past, we also have the option to purchase the axles without the D60 outers or the 9-inch third members. This way, if you already have these parts on hand, you can simply buy our housings and then bolt your parts to them.

And just to clarify the situation, I wanted to point out that Overkill Engineering and Atomic Axle are 2 separate companies. The owner of Overkill, Gabe Gile, is the guy who designed the axles, and he is now a part owner of Atomic. But they are different companies, with different staffs and programs.

I've included some art here that helps to clarify what's going on inside the Atomic. I'm looking forward to more comments.

    Thanks

This is the same concept and design that I am using to make the Maxles for my RC crawler.

LOL glad you posted that cut away pic. I was looking at the video adn I was like the only way that would work is if it were made like that or double u-jointed axle shafts.
