Well, I'm not real good at these new fangled rigs, (give my points and a carb any day!!)

But I do know that the CPS can be finicky, especially after being removed/replaced.

Try wiggling it, or checking it. It needs to be "X" amount of distance from the flywheel to work right. I don't recall the gap, but it's small.

I changed the CPS b/c there was power to the coil when key on but no signal POS or NEG while trying to start. Used a working 95 Cherokee to verify before changing. After changing CPS there was no change. Further looking and test showed the Cam Position Sensor was not working. Pulled the Dist out and dismantled and found the Cam Sensor was broken. Could only find Cam Sensor at dealer for $94. Instead bought a reman Dist. from Pep Boys for $54.

After putting back together it runs like new.

The damn Cam Sensor was the last thing I thought it would be but owell. Hopefully if anyone has this prob in future you can refer to this post. Customer is happy again.
