How hard do you wheel it? My wife drives a 4.7L v8 WK. Fun to drive. Wouldn't wheel it.
Lookin at trading my 2 dr jk in for a used 07 4dr JK or a 05 5.7 4x4 grand cherokee for family friendliness... anyone got any input on the WK? other than the huge HP and tow capacity difference... seems like most the lift kits for it are crazy expensive..

They're a thirsty mofo, buddy. Even the 4.7L gets 14-16 mpg. I'm sure you could get better than that with 4 dr JK and you'd have a very buildable and comfy jeep.\
Again, just my 0.02
How about a compromise. 5.7 JK!

Just before I left, I got my wife an '05 WK with the 5.7 Hemi. She LOVES it. She test drove a JK and the WK. She is a smaller person, and didn't like how "high" she sat in the JK. Oh well. It's mostly for her, so I'm glad she at least kept it in the Jeep family. Anything I can do to keep HH6 out of my hair until after the V8 for the TJ, I'm all for it

4-door JK is pretty family friendly, seats five, has more usable cargo room and is a whole lot easier to modify, even for family haulen duties...Grand Cherokee will be quieter and offers more creature comforts, but unless you need to tow or are thinking of picking up another older Jeep to wheel, I would still get the JK.
I had a 05 WK with the 5.7l it was the worst vehicle I ever owned. I bought it with 500 miles at about 12k miles we started having problems. 1st the battery would not last more then a week or 2. I had to have it towed a few times because of a dead battery. The other great problem it had was it would shut off on its own while driving with no warning. Of course Chysler would just toss random parts at the jeep and try to fix it I think I had it there 5 times in 8 months with this problem. This Jeep did fall under the lemon law here in AZ and we made out on it, but it was a pain to get it all done. We did like the WK with all the options, the Hemi has great power. I'm sure if there were no problems with it I would still have it.
This Jeep was never on anything more then a dirt road once or twice and was stock. My wife drove the kids around in it. I used it tow my dirt bike on the weekends.
dude! JK ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just my humble .02
