    Default OBD codes are back...

So I went down to Texas and back and my TJ ran great for the most part.. I have been getting the check engine light on some times when I was in 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear at about 20-40mph.... (normally in traffic it would come on).... The light has come on and off since I had the jeep in January... I replaced the lower O2 sensor already and the light went out for awhile, but now its back giving me codes 122, 138... One of those codes is from the TPS not having enough voltage, and the other is an O2 sensor, or the vehicle running rich fuel / high fuel pressure... Could these codes be related? If so, should i replace the TPS?

Any help on this troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated... I also noticed when i was on my way home yesterday after the light came on, when i was attempting to accelerate up a hill in 5th gear, my jeep started to buck.... it felt like it was going to stall...

Please help! Im heading back to VA on Thursday and dont want to stall or break down.....

    Thank you all in advance

More likely your TPS is no good or the ground to it is no good.
Make sure all the ground connection are solid IE from batt to engine and
batt to frame. Also replace the TPS for safety measure
    Good luck.

dont try to go up hills in 5th gear, and shift into lower gear when going slower.

other than that, do as posted above and should be good to go.

replaced the TPS and took the TJ for a test run! The MIL light went out as soon as I started it back up, and also could feel a big difference in the engines idle. I appreciate the tips and advice. Thank you...

Attached is a pic of my TJ...

just a thought, even though it is fixed.

when my TPS was on the fritz, I would run real real rich, sometimes to the point of killing the motor, blowing smoke, etc.

This was throwing O2 sensor faults as well, as the O2 sensor see's way out of spec stuff coming down the pipe, and throws a code for either too rich exhaust or a bad sensor.

replaced my TPS after running Ohm check on it, and it killed all my dummy lights.

Funny you say that, because i was getting code 138 which is a lower O2 sensor. Now they are both gone! Hopefully I fixed the cause...
