    Default Alarms

So as i go to get in my jeep today i noticed my rear left window unzipped, i already figured what happened, the inside was trashed gps was stollen and a pair of pad lock keys that open the lock for my high lift and gerry can. i dont feel like getting a hard top so is there any good alarm systems out there thatll go off even when trying to get in through soft top.?

yeah, i dont know the brand since it came with my jeep but i have a proximity alarm. with no top on, it's give a warning beep when you stick your hand in, and if it stays too long it get's obnoxious. with the top on, unzipping a window or opening a door sets it off immediatly

I have a bare bones Viper alarm with a proximity sensor in it like Tickwomp said. I put it in when we lived in D.C. Works like a charm. The only thing that sucks when the top is off is birds or damn cats.

Another thing is don't leave anything you don't want stolen in your Jeep.

The best alarm is to leave your doors unlocked and nothing in there. The stock glovebox and center console can be popped open in seconds.
I thin your money would be better invested in a tuffy glove box and console, and a fuel cut off switch.

I gonna have to agree with Jeff, don't leave anything laying around in the jeep. If you do have to leave something in the jeep, make sure that it is stashed/locked somewhere. I have one of these so when I leave my jeep and have something worth $'s in it, I just lock it in the back.

I have the proximity alarm too. I had a hell of a time "tuning" it for when the doors are off but finally got it set. I put a switch on the hood, one on the rear gate, a tilt sensor and the prox alarm. I bought a tuffy center console and everything worth anything goes in there. I don't lock the doors and usually leave the windows down (if the doors are on) just so some Ahole doesn't just cut the top thinking that the doors are locked.

Oh... and my alarm pages me when it goes off - or even when the "warn away" alarm goes off. I am hoping that I am able to catch someone with it one day... gonna be doom on turd time!!

i lock up my GPS and faceplate in the stock center console, and ipod is wired in through the glove. no one messes with my CB and even if they got froggy and wanted to bust my console open, the prox alarm would get before they stuck their head in there. i go no doors no top most of the year.
